Crisis on Earth X (CW)
« on: November 29, 2017, 01:04:44 PM »
I'm on hour two

Too much RSVP bull, especially from the legends. If you're time travelling from the 12th century you really don't need to worry about beng late

Why does Earth X have a Kara?
Why would Zoom have come back and possessed Wells again?
I always liked Alex but enough with that whining already.

Did I miss an episode where Ollie is Arrow again and Diggle is back to Guardian?

Yeah, it just wasn't very good.

I hope they saved bad Ollie's body, they can claim the Green Arrow as a duplicate and is dead

Yeah, that threw me.  Only thing that makes sense, is Arrow works off a different timeline then Flash.

Working on hour 2 on dvr now.

Diggle was incapacitated at the end of last week's Arrow, if memory serves. He was taking a drug to counteract his nerve/muscle reactions.

The lack of Palmer bothered me. Maybe it was a budget thing. Same reason why I'm disappointed there was no Martian Manhunter.

That said I really liked it. Sci-Fi nazis will never get old. The fight scenes, while not graphic, were pretty brutal. Alex capped people point blank in the head. Even Ollie had sub-machinegun bursts to the gut.

Two more shows to go (Decided to see Designated Survivor instead of hour three.)

Yeah, space nazi's are a fun concept.. But this being the CW and all, the cynic in me can't help but wonder if there's a dig at the "alt right" burried in there somewhere.

Not that they've ever been shy about just being in your face about it, e.g. every time Cat Grant says something.

it wasn't buried - but that isn't even what bothered me - there was no logic, the show made no sense

They did have a "Make America Aryan Again" line which was pretty ridiculous, but I've just accepted that's what they do.

Hour three in.

Something about the Kara/evil Spock exchange bugs me.  The way they defined good vs evil, with evil equating to "hedonism", and good to "never get to have fun/pleasure."

I mean, you could play that off in so many ways, and they went with "You could enjoy life, or you could sacrifice all happiness for the sake of others."

Which is bull, and even kind of lazy imo.
