DC's Legends of Tomorrow (CW)
« on: March 31, 2015, 09:18:39 AM »
Well that's what we'll call it til they decide on the name.

They've cast Hawkgirl and Rip Hunter today.

Biggest mystery other than what the show will be called is who or what Caity Lotz will be.

Bringing in Hawkgirl huh...wonder if that means they're going to branch out into the galactic events of their universe.

Yea, the Caity Lotz thing is the oddest thing about all this.  Unless she gets Lazarus Pitted and comes back as another character.

Not really into the whole comic book live action tv genre, but I might give this a watch.

Rip Hunter?

Will this lead into Booster Gold?

Probably not, but the Ted Kord version of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold are made for tv drama.

This is following the Agent Carter format. Shorter season, 13 episodes, and will air when Flash and Arrow go on hiatus.

Synopsis

"When heroes alone are not enough, the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?"

Sounds like Vandal Savage is going to be the big bad of the series.

That felt like The Avengers right down to Cap and Thor's "you had to ask" moment

Atom: that's the best Savage can throw at us? We got this thing nailed down.

Captain Cold: why did you say that.

WOOO!  Atom is finally going to shrink.

Also, I haven't seen Arrow yet as it doesn't air till Sunday where I'm at for some reason.  Hope this didn't just spoil anything from it for me

I liked the Vandall Savage character as a kid. Before I developed my distaste for time travel. I'll probably give it a shot, Flash is still pretty good despite it.

Rumor has it if the show gets additional seasons it'll be a different team each season. Constantine rumored to be part of a potential Season 2.

So this is looking amazing.  Two big things that stood out to me:

1) You hear them clearly say "I've seen Men of Steel die and Dark Knight's Fall".  So Batman and Superman are official for the DC TV Universe now I'm guessing so a Supergirl crossover that's rumored is probably true now.

2) To go along with that was that fucking KRYPTONITE that Captain Cold was looking at.

And having the guy who played Rory look very eerily like he could be on Doctor Who.

Is it just me or does the people who play Hawkman and Hawkgirl have very little chemistry?

This season premiere can be best described as fun. I hope the rest of the show holds up.
