Binging over the free week.
Up to episode 6, and on the fence about this. It's got a lot of potential, but the writing isn't exactly tight or subtle, and there's quite a bit of obvious padding (Tween relationships that do NOTHING for the plot, for example. Keep your CW out of my Netflix.)
The most interesting things for me so far are:
1. Wil and Robot are basically Lenny and George from "Of Mice and Men".
2. New Smith is an evil sociopath, who contrasts with a smuggler with a heart of gold. The show, unfortunately, outright TELLS the audience who these people are (Repeats of "You may act tough, but you're really a good man". I guess these writers never heard of "Show, don't tell".)
All in all, kind of wishing I went with Stranger Things, but I'm in too deep now, so to the finish line..

Parents, tell me:
Your other half admits they doctored test results, so that your child passes after they failed. Could be for anything..
Would you be aghast at this admission? Or waive it off as normal parenting to give your kid a leg up?
Because according to this show, any parent would totally cheat a system to get their kid a better life. Heck with ethics, amiright?

Anyways, I can't recommend this series.
Characters are plain unlikable for the most part. Will could have been named Will Wheaten (Not looking up the spelling.)
Plot is parts predictable, derivative, and nonsenscal.
I mean, Smith is supposed to be a clever delilah, but all she does is stir up trouble for no real reason. Her endgame is something she just stumbled into, not carefully planned for. Also, her acting is terrible.
There's calls to better stuff, like Mice and Men, Aliens, Flight of the Navigator, and probably more I'm missing, but without a clever spin to it. Something like Legends of Tomorrow can get away with this stuff because it's for the joke, and a better non tongue in cheek show could get away with it if they had something else going for it. This show simply does not.

Doesn't shock me. Thanks for biting this bullet for me
