the ability to ignore posters
Profile -> Personal Message Options
Add whoever you want to ignore into the Ignorelist. Blocking them for messages also blocks their posts, according to the folks at SMF.

You had me on ignore once. It didn't last. You know it won't last this time either. I'm a cigarette and you're the smoker who just can't stop me.

who said i wanted to ignore you?

cigarette and fag aren't always interchangeable dude. your post makes no sense.
-
I find this feature kind of annoying
-
I really don't like it all that much either. I just added it because he said it was there on the last board, although I never noticed it.
What does everyone else think of it? I can take it out if it's not needed.
-
I don't remember it on the last board TBH

tho it's pretty funny hovering over padge's ms paint thread.
-
Is there any way to increase the delay before getting the preview? It seems like a nice feature to have if I'm actually trying to get a preview, but having a strobe effect of windows popping up and closing as I move my mouse across the page is annoying.
-
I added a two second delay, so those that just want to basically ignore it probably won't see it as they mouse around, and if you want to see it, then you deliberately have to pause on it with the mouse.
-
good man
-
this is awesome, because it lets you know whether to click on a thread or not.

Works perfectly!

It makes the site hard to navigate on the Iphone. Instead of clicking through to a link, it' sfifty fifty whether it opens that window.
-
I've never liked it as a feature as it tends to expose spoilers sometimes. Granted, if a thread title says a post contains spoilers, I shouldn't be hovering on it, but shit happens sometimes.
-
oh yeah, now i remember. we did have it, but it was only inside an actual thread. if you were in hybrid mode where you could see the list of posts in a thread, you could hover over that list. and yes, it would ignore spoiler tags; it just showed you the first X number of characters - hidden or not.
-
I checked or out on my ipod yesterday and didn't seem to have any problems. I'm posting this from my new Samsung Focus with Windows Phone 7 and it seems to work fine so far.

he-man.org has a cool feature where it combines posts in the same thread from the same user when made successively (ie, i make a post in thread XYZ. then later, i make another post, but since i was the last person to make a post in that thread, it appends/edits my new post into my previous post).
-
if I wanted it to be the same post I'd have added it myself.

it only does it when you would have successive posts (ie, you post in a thread and you are the next person to post in that thread again...no posts between yours). it would keep the post counts slightly lower and make the multi quote feature work better (it doesn't really work if you are using it on posts that are on different pages).
anyway, just a suggestion.
eta: and while pv is no longer here, he was someone who had a habit of stringing two or three posts together back to back to back. i just found it annoying.
