I feel like this team isn't as bad as their record. It seems like they have been a tad unlucky with RISP. By no means are they a good team, but I have seen far worse Royals teams in my years of suffering.

They've managed to get 3 wins in a row and aren't the worst team in the division! 6-14 vs the Twins 5-15 record.

They're over .500!

A friend is at the Royals game right now. In the middle of the 8th, when the teams were switching, they started playing Fandango's theme.

They got swept by the Yankees. They still had a nice offseason and can maybe win the always mediocre AL Central.

They are falling fast and will probably end up with 74 wins. This year is extra special in KC because it's the tenth year anniversary of the historic 2003 team which was the only Royals team to go over .500 over a full season in the last 20 years. I feel like this year and next year there is a small window to go finish over .500 before Shields leaves and we have to go back into rebuilding mode.

But seriously, this has been a fun season. They went 9-1 and only gained 1 game on the wildcard spot because Detroit and Cleveland went 9-1 and 8-2 in the same period. Most Royals thing ever.

Tough loss tonight, but we got capacity crowds at the K in August, and that's pretty cool!

Royals still hanging around in the WC Chase. 3 games back of the Rays and Rangers with the Indians and Orioles ahead of them, as well.
KC needs to sweep the Rangers at home this weekend to be a serious contender heading into the final week of the season.

Its been a long road to hero for Moos.
Not sure if this is real or if I died and am living my wildest fantasies. Listening to Denny Matthews call Royals playoff action constitutes a strange and beautiful full-circle in my life.

Speaking of the world not making sense, wasn't able to get ALCS tickets. Fine, it's okay watching it on tv(even if the TBS announcers are terrible). Was more disappointed that my mom, who was a die-hard during the 90's and 00's, couldn't go.
So yesterday I ended up winning tickets to games 3, 4 and 5. Fuck yeah. 8)

One of the Royals players wore a "These O's Ain't Royal" shirt after Game 3. He got shit for it, but it was hilarious.
Congrats to KC, every baseball fan outside of San Fran and St. Louis should be pulling for them, even if their owner is so rich and evil he can hire the Steinbrenners to be his servants.

So, is KC any good this year? I haven't been following.

There was a discussion on sports radio about the Giants having an advantage due to the DH rule. In KC, they get to add power-hitting Michael Morse to their lineup, while the Royals have the same lineup they have had all year. Then in SF, the Royals will lose their cleanup hitter Billy Butler.
Somehow, I still feel the Royals will be okay and hold their own.

Royals in the World Series!!! I actually remember on the old A1 when the Mets were last in the World Series in 2000 and the fans on here were jawing with the Yankees fans. A little bit more activity on here back then 8)
