Leonard Nimoy :(
Dang, I was never a Star Trek fan, but I did like Spock as a character because he was an outsider who was trying his best to fit in with people and I've related to that feeling for a long time. Rest in peace.
-
I liked Nimoy's "Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" song.

He is one of those guys that is so influential, people learning guitar are learning his licks without even knowing it.

Back in MBE the Red Don and the newly revealed BobbyR used Riding with the King as entrance music :(

He came to Winnipeg probably about 10-12 year ago, and that wasn't a show I was going to miss. Even in his late 70's/about 80 years old - he was just starting to use a chair in his concerts to sit down and play at this time - the guy was absolutely phenomenal and to use a cliché, you could hear and feel the soul in every note he played and sang. I'm glad to have seen him play live.

You see, Jason was my son, and today is his birthday.

He grew up 20 minutes from where I'm sitting, had a homecoming every year, and I never went to any of them. I suck. I didn't even go to his funeral service (but I was home with my family so I have an excuse).

Also, it's amazing how he never looked his age. He was like 70+ in documentary interviews and he always looked no older than 55. Haven't seen him pictured in a while so I imagine if he was battling brain cancer he looked his age by now. I had no idea he was sick. He just tweeted the other day, man! He just tweeted! It probably wasn't him if he had brain cancer.
RIP Wes. Everyone knows Freddy Kruger.

Hulk Hogan lol

Want to make mention of the sad news today of the death of Harry Simon, a longtime reader and huge fan who contributed trivia column for this site years ago. Simon passed away on Friday due to suicide, a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He had lost his father one year ago on the same day as well as another close family member and had battled depression along with other painful physical problems over the past year. He was 40. He used to love to tell people he thought he was the only person ever to write for both the Wrestling Observer and Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Harry Simon had a wish that his friends could all get together on a date in January for a gathering. If anyone is interested in attending the Harry Simon Memorial, please e-mail Joyce Katz at joyceworley1@cox.net Simon was big into pro wrestling and comic books.

Hard Core Harry. That's sad. I still have a bunch of wrestlcrap VHS tapes he made and sent me. Never even watched them
He was a good guy - to me. Once told me I was the nicest guy on the internet (consider the source)
RIP
