Gaming Forum / Re: No Man's Sky?

I may but by the time I'll play it, it'll be 2020. So I'll wait until it's a Black Friday deal. From what I can tell, it's looks supremely boring based on streams I've seen of it.

Of course, Hello Games are resetting the servers once the game is released so any pre-release progress will be lost.

Besides, Resident Evil 4 is coming to PS4 at the end of the month.

Wrestling & MMA / Re: RAW is Watch Tomorrow
« on: July 19, 2016, 12:02:15 AM »

I found Stephanie McMahon to be absolutely insufferable to watch and Shane equally insufferable. Does Vince really have to let his children on TV?

The highlight for me was the Enzo & Cass/The Club/Cena/The New Day segment.

Wrestling & MMA / Re: So apparently there was a Raw last night.

It was a better show to me without the McMahon bullshit. AJ Styles had his best promo since arriving to the WWE.

"What are we going to do on Labor Day, Karl?"
"Gee AJ, thanks for asking. We're going to beat John Cena."
"What about Christmas?"
"After I wrap up the presents with my hot Asian wife, I'm going to beat up John Cena."

He managed to do something that Cena hasn't done in years: Appear to be cool.

And Seth Rollins had an incredible promo that actually got the fans wanting to have Roman Reigns out of Battlegrounds until he compared them to Roman Reigns. Not to mention Rollins and Dolph Ziggler had a great main event worthy match.

Ziggler had a great line in his segment with Vickie Guerrero: "Hey mom, I lost again, but I tried really hard."

Not to mention Chris Jericho singing O Canada really loud in the ring. Drink it maaannnn.

Seth Rollins far and away, then Reigns, then Ambrose.

I think that Rollins/Reigns will become the modern-day equivalent of the HBK/Hart rivalry for the next several years. Rollins I've thought for years is the second coming of HBK, and Reigns can play the no-nonsense Hart role (the more serious guy from the big wrestling family).

If Rollins is the HBK, Reigns is the Bret Hart, then Dean Ambrose is the Stone Cold Steve Austin. I can picture Ambrose with his head busted open (not from a turkey carver or a lighttube this time!) in a submission move by Reigns and passing out.

Gaming Forum / Re: Xbox Scorpian and Neo
« on: June 28, 2016, 07:17:26 PM »

For me as a PS4 owner, I probably won't get the "PS4 Neo." The problem I have with both systems is there are relatively few developers that would be able to develop for the systems properly. Indie/middle class developers simply can't.

With that being said, Sony is likely to do a console exclusive that makes the "PS4 Neo" worth getting. Microsoft may be able to do so as well, provided it's not Halo, Gears of War or Forza IMO.

I was actually on board with getting the Xbox One S until "Project Scorpio" was revealed. Microsoft to me managed to undermine their own efforts -- Rise of the Tomb Raider didn't pay off, Halo 5 isn't selling as well, Forza is losing traction (pun intended) and I'm not too jazzed about Gears of War 4. Scalebound is too far away. Their brilliant idea next will be "Let's buy Naughty Dog and have them make something like Uncharted 4 or The Last Of Us on our system!" rather than look at their current first party developers and make a brand new, inventive IP. That stealth demo that The Coalition did when they were Black Task had me hoping for that.

Where Sony is winning is the wide variety of games on there -- you can play Disgaea 5 and Grand Kingdom and Atelier Sophie on the same system as you can play Star Wars Battlefront, Uncharted 4, and Destiny and PS2 remasters like GTA III and indie games like Broken Sword 5.

You mean, there was no testing when The Rock and HHH were becoming popular? Inconceivable!

Is there any testing now for The Rock? There's blood in his cocaine stream.

Wrestling & MMA / Re: Tully Blanchard: One heck of a heel
« on: June 25, 2016, 11:45:54 PM »

The flip side of that is that "the heels never act like true heels." Except for The Miz and Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho calling people stupid idiots, none of the WWE's current heels are really heelish.

That Joe Cronin is a goof.

He's probably the worse interviewer I've ever heard -- the fact that he praises TNA is pretty suspect.

What Adam Rose says about "it already being decided" points back to Vince McMahon. Yet Vince doesn't 'blow smoke up Adam Rose's ass" but the WWE won't do anything with his appearance on ESPN.

Saw a completely unverified rumor floating around Twitter today that Reigns was popped for the use of a fat burner.

Hopefully not the Buddy Rose Blow Away Diet.

I imagine Ambrose's reign as champion will be very short-lived; he called the title 'the belt' so de-push imminent.

« on: June 20, 2016, 07:31:25 AM »
I like the possibilities, but I don't know why Vince did it. I mean, Roman has been pushed so hard he's getting Cena boos. Why give him his first clean loss right now just 2 months into his first real title reign?

My guess: Vince McMahon finally realized that pushing Reigns this hard was not a good idea.

Dean Ambrose went from getting his head sliced open with a turkey carver in front of about 50 people to WWE World champion. Wow.

The whole "Dean Ambrose is from Ohio" thing Vince is absolutely clueless about.

I love King, but he really needs to date women his own age

The problem with that is most women his own age are really old or no longer pretty. I guess he needs to try to date Susan Sarandon.

From what Jerry Lawler indicated to local media, he was trying to prevent his girlfriend from driving because she was in no shape to drive and she was drunk.

The opening segment had some gems:

Dean Ambrose - Are we going to fight now? We are on ladders, you know.
Dean Ambrose - ...I'll fight mole people.
Chris Jericho & Sami Zayn's exchange.
"This is important, which MITB did you win?"
"The first one, the sixth one."
"Where?"
"Apple. Appleton. The Big Apple."
"New York?"
"It doesn't matter, Idiotsville."
Cesaro: So your hometown?
"I'm from Winnipeg, you idiot."

Not a fan of Ambrose, can't stand his offense.  Gimmick is wack, too.

If Ambrose not grabbing women aggressively or cutting his head with a turkey carver, there's nothing interesting about him.

I'm not really worried, but I am skeptical about the upcoming Cena feud. Not winning it is whatever, I just don't want to see Cena beat everyone 1 against 3 because they won't recover from that.

John Cena overcame The Nexus and it was about 6 guys. I have a feeling he's going to overcome The Club because Vince is petty. I hope the crowd completely shits all over it and they do it in front of a smarky crowd.

I legitimately thought they were separating The Club and AJ so he'd be freed up to do something else.  I figured he was penciled in as the second or third face in the company who was getting universally positive reactions.

I would hope that too, but this is Vince McMahon we're talking about.

"AJ Styles is getting over as a face? I didn't create him damnit! Turn him heel now!"
"...But Vince, the WWE universe actually likes him..."
"I don't care, I'll tell the WWE universe what they should like!"

That's funny, Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder did. Seriously, that's like the 35th time they've done that angle with Cena. Even Charlie Brown missing the football when Lucy pulls it away is less predictable.

Also, great job by Michael Cole talking about "Kurt" Anderson during the beatdown. SMH

At some point, the fact that they've done it so many times to Cena makes it lose its luster.

If last night is the direction the WWE is going, expect a lot of fuckin' commercials.

Stephanie McMahon basically cutting off Charlotte's push at the knees, earned a big "F U" from me. Let your actual face (Natalya or Becky Lynch) be the one to tell Charlotte that, not Stephanie. If all of the McMahons can fall to their death in the Grand Canyon, the world would be a better place.

The only segments I liked was the New Day and Kevin Owens/Chris Jericho's exchange.

Jericho: ....moi, that's French.
Owens: I know.

The WWE seriously needs to have a JericKO tag team in the tag title picture.

General Discussion / Re: What old TV shows need a reboot?
« on: May 29, 2016, 04:31:33 PM »

I could imagine Syfy doing a Canadian TV (Continuum/Warehouse 13) style reboot of Quantum Leap.

I would love to see a reboot for SeaQuest DSV but I'm not sure how that would work without it being too Star Trek-y.

Geekville / Re: Captain America Comics Spoiler

The only logical explanation would be he's a double agent who forgot his original cover and signed up for the Super Soldier program on accident.

But then it wouldn't explain the change in his physique. And it wouldn't explain how the rest of HYDRA didn't know he was a plant -- unless it's a Super Secret HYDRA within HYDRA that knows things the rest of HYDRA doesn't know.

Still, it's stupid.
