If they do try to make 205 like the Cruiserweight Classic, I'll watch every week.

It is funny seeing Drake be serious when he made a career out of comedy.

I think that's what they're doing.  Also I'm not familiar Drake's previous work, but so far he's been great.  Any matches of his or segments worth checking out?

I love the new 205 Live so far.  Drake Maverick is making Die Hard references and fixing all of Vince's bad decisions.  Really hoping Neville returns at some point.  I don't mind the dead crowd.  I just pretend I'm watching NJPW.  Would love to see a smaller venue introduced at some point.

Listening to the Meltzer post-show, if anyone was curious why the crowd was distracted a couple times during the beginning of the ladder match, it's because a few fans tried to throw streamers into the ring, and they got KICKED OUT.

I KNEW IT

It's Harper and Rowan only.  Bray has kind of come and gone with no real focus on him right now.  Harper and Rowan's finisher is The Way which is the Dudley Death Drop.

Thanks.  I've seen gifs of them doing the 3d

Seriously though.  Why did they break up the Wyatt Family and have them all keep their Wyatt Family gimmicks?  It's like when they split up the Dudley's and just had Bubba team with Spike.  Silly

Is the Wyatt Family fully reunited yet?   I don't watch RAW and don't really care to read through a recap.

I'm vindicated about Fatty "Clown Shoes" Steen. Explain him to me, please. I'm like a 13 year old girl because I cannot.

Wrestling & MMA / Re: CM Punk's "identity crisis"
« on: April 13, 2015, 01:44:26 AM »
Nobody forced CM Punk to go to WWE, and nobody forced him to be in main events and have multiple runs as World and WWE champ.  He could at least recognize the fact that he was pushed to the moon, especially when so many other guys in that locker room haven't gotten 1/10th what he got despite being better than him, and not having the heat he had with management pretty much the entire time he was there.

I want to know who these guys were in the lockerroom that were better than Punk on the mic.

And nobody forced WWE to push him.  When he first threatened to walk, they could've let him walk.  They gave him the ball, he hit it out of the park, then they fucked it up again...but that was after he already re-signed.

And now he has Dana White fooled, apparently.  He's gonna be drawing at least one or two huge buy rates all while facing scrubs (according to A1...I honestly have no clue)

The man has won.  He is a god.  Yeah, he's a jerk, but I think if we all took 5 minutes or so and really thought hard about it, we can all acknowledge he has accomplished more than we ever will (at the very least, Maria and AJ)

The guys weighs like a 170 lbs, and he bamboozled Vince and HHH.  He may not turn heads in airports, but he'll be written about in history books for at least a few decades.  Whatever the hell that means.

*standing ovation*

I first thought this was gonna be about how every time he is asked what "CM" stands for, he gives a different answer.

Wrestling & MMA / Re: Idea for the U.S./IC Belts
« on: April 05, 2015, 03:59:34 PM »
Even when they have separate brands it's still just one promotion.  Don't see how that matters.  When WCW was around there was two world champs and that never bothered me.  With the amount of talent WWE has currently I don't see what the big deal is about having two titles like the World and WWE Titles.

I was never crazy about them having two world titles.  Still, when they had two separate rosters, it at least made sense.  Yes, it was the same promotion, but they had two rosters.  Once they started to gradually end the split, I was all for them unifying the world titles.  When they finally did, I was pretty pumped.

I didn't have a problem with WCW, ECW, and WWE, all referring to their belts as world championships in the 90s, because they were separate rosters and separate promotions.

To me, when there are too many titles on one show, the belts don't mean as much.  Belts get lost in the shuffle and they just become props.  It seems like everybody has a belt.  It's boring to me.

I just want an easy to understand wrestling program where there is a clear cut goal.  Wrestlers wrestling each other over who gets to be the man (champ).  You know, like NXT.

That's just how I like my wrestling.  That's cool that you're into everybody having belts.  It's not what I want to see.

Why do you need a brand split to have two world champs?  The belts co-existed for a long time without a true brand split.

Because it's simple and it makes sense.  One promotion, one world champ.

If they separate the shows again, sure.  Then it makes sense.  But without a brand split, why two world champs?  I don't get it.

I guess we'll agree to disagree on this'n

I should add I'd like to see them split the WWE World Heavyweight Title at some point.

Maybe I'm not following this thread close enough (which is most likely the case), but why is that?  There is no brand split.  Why would they need two world champions again?  Especially since it feels like they just unified the belts not that long ago.

I felt like the scrap at the beginning of the match was purposely stiff.

I think the entire match was.  And it was awesome.

Samoa Joe has to be one of my least favorite names for a big name talent.

I don't mind it.  Samoa Joe sounds like a character from a Tarantino movie.

That said, I look forward to the NXT debut of Joseph Samuels!

I don't care about Samoa Joe's financials.  It ain't my concern.

Exactly.  We're not his business manager, we're wrestling fans who just wanna see him rassle certain grapplers on a certain stage.

I don't know how spelled out it was, but it definitely feels like a brother/brother relationship - the way Saul talks to him. He also calls him Chuck, not 'Dad,' or 'My father.'

SPOILERS?
I've read in various magazine articles that they're brothers.
General Discussion / Re: The Walking Dead: Season 5
« on: February 09, 2015, 04:53:21 PM »
Yeah plus the episode was way too artsy for me to the point where I felt like I had to do too much work to try and piece together elements that were undeserved for a character.

Thing that kept taking me out of the episode was the Governor showing up with all the other dead people. Tyrese barely interacted with the guy during the Woodbury storyline.

I read in Entertainment Weekly (the one with Darryl on the cover) that Robert Kirkman said the season 5 Part II opener is more like a poem, and that a lot of fans were going to love it, and others would hate it.

I hated it.  Maybe hate is a strong word, but I didn't like it.  And I totally agree with you about the Governor being completely out of place.  It's like they just brought everybody back for one last paycheck.  That's probably how they cushion the blow when they have to tell an actor that they are being killed off.  They just tell them they will bring them back for special appearances.

If this show doesn't do something fast to get me to care about it again, I may be done with it.  Those first 4 seasons were really good and had some really great moments, but season 5 has done nothing for me (with the exception of the first two episodes).

What was with Rick being worried about Carl seeing Tyrese with a missing arm?  Carl put down his mom for shittsake.  He can handle a bloody stump.

"Three hours sucks."--HHH

I may be misquoting him, but that's the gist.

The podcast was great, but it is so bizarre how they promoted it on RAW.  They ended RAW with the HHH character saying he's going to explain everything on the podcast, and we get the Talking Dead.  Or Talking RAW.  It's all great for us, but they probably shouldn't have announcers and wrestlers promoting it on the actual RAW program.  It's like Rick Grimes telling Carl to watch Talking Dead.

Other than that, good stuff.

Better not have anything to do with splitting up the world titles again.  I have always hated the two world champions nonsense.
