Qualifying Credentials: AWA World Champion (1984)
Defeated Stan Hansen in 1989 to unify three titles (NWA International, NWA United National, and PWF Heavyweight), and became the first All Japan Triple Crown Champion. Would win that title on two more occasions. Also defeated Nick Bockwinkel to win the AWA title and held that title for almost 3 months.

Had great success in NWA territories, Crockett NWA, WWF, and WCW. Infamous rivalry with Ric Flair lasted the better part of a decade. Defeated Randy Savage at Wrestlemania 3 in what many consider one of the greatest matches of all time. Defeated Ric Flair for his only World Title in 1989.
