One of my favorite games. Never read the book, but I read all about the development of the game, and learned the author, Harlan Ellison, had such a good experience with the lead designer, that he stood up in front of an audience that included the best game companies at the time, told them he was going to put all their names in a jar, and whichever was picked out, that's who he would work for.
Wow, just like that. I'm not sure if this proves best selling authors had way more influence then I'd thought, or if the success of the game made designer such a hot commodity, everyone wanted him.
