Mario Mobile

Nintendo finally does a proper app game, and they get it all wrong.

3 level demo, 10 dollar unlock, in game iap, AND a requirement to have an internet connection at all times (Forget about playing on the go if you don't have a robust data plan with a lot of coverage.)

Too bad, because the game itself seems great.  But the mobile markets habits are too engrained to go for this,  even coming from Nintendo.

I don't think the game is great in the first place.  I didn't even get through the three levels before deleting from my phone.

I actually like it, but it could use a FREE update with more levels.  $9.99 is a little steep, I would have thought that $4.99 would be the perfect price point.

High prices is actually part of Nintendo's marketing strategy.  Seriously, they outright claimed it.

And they're pretty successful, so it probably works with conventional gaming.  Mobile games are an entirely different animal though..  Gonna be interesting seeing if they can adapt, or decide to pull out of mobile gaming.
