I love Jimmy's strategy of saying he lied on the tape to try and make his brother feel better. It was the only card to play.

Technically, Jimmy didn't lie.  He DID tell Chuck what he wanted to hear to make him feel better, as he told the court.

It just so happens what he wanted to hear was the truth.  :)

The ultimate cynical play there was calling Chuck's honesty into question by exposing the underlying pseudo-science of his allergy.

That was a terrific episode with a very enjoyable ending

Kim seemed impressed with the commercial.

Theme was pretty much Jimmy getting rolled by everybody.

What was the significance of the insurance bytch finding out about Chuck's breakdown?  Are they clients, or is Jimmy simply trying to raise his insurance rates (Wouldn't that be some sort of company plan?)

I'm guessing it had to do with raising Chuck's insurance rates. Precisely how it relates, I'm not sure. Maybe Chuck's position in the firm means that his mental illness would affect the risk and premiums for the company itself?

What I wonder is why Mike went from not wanting to help Wormald make the deal with Nacho to getting himself involved, seemingly on the basis of talking to the Navy widow. Not sure what one had to do with the other.

The only thing I can figure on that one, is maybe Hector made her husband disappear and Mike knew it, and that made him think harder about what Nacho needs with the capsules.

Not sure why Mike would care if Nacho lives or dies in a failed coup, though.  Perhaps he figures Hector needs Nacho to keep him in check, and even more people would suffer or vanish under a Nacho-less reign?

The theory I heard that makes some sense is that Mike was reminded of the Good Samaritan who found Hector's truck after Mike robbed it (and got disappeared for his trouble). Mike was going to kill Hector in retaliation until Gus made him back off. Orchestrating the cocaine-sneaker plot was supposed to make it even, but for Mike, it didn't. Hearing the Navy widow talk about her husband who went hiking and just vanished one day just re-lit Mike's fire. The key is (I assume), finding a way to do it without Gus finding out (which may not be easy since Gus is tracking Nacho's van).

Anyway...anyone Wanna Call Saul?

Starting to feel sorry for Chuck.

For all his crap, he really is a mentally ill man.  And now he's watching his entire life unravel.

I thought it was hilarious that Jimmy played the old woman like that. Also I really thought Kim might die in that final scene just a hunch I had but I was not too far off.

I think they tipped their hand with Kim. It seems unlikely she ever does die in the course of this series, not if they had a chance to bump her off and didn't take it. I bet the series finale features a post-BB Jimmy reuniting with her.

Talking Dead:  "IS he dead?"

Oh yeah, I'm sure he'll walk out of that fire unsinged.  Because people walk out of building burning all the time amiright?

Actually, that opening..

Shot of the lamp, talk of "lost in the dark" and a question from young Jimmy "Is she gonna be OK?"

"She's gonna be fine."

"How do you know?"

"Just wait, Jimmy.  Wait and see."

Forshadowing that Chuck is going to be allright?  Survive the fire, and maybe get the help he needs and make a turnaround?

Maybe Chuck makes it through that, but it's pretty clear he was trying to kill himself.

Shock of the night is that the episode was super compelling, without a single appearance from Mike.

That time when Gus Fring posed as a journalist and tried to undermine the great Bob Roberts's Pennsylvania Senate campaign (then later tried to murder him).
