The Hangover Part II (2011)
« on: May 27, 2011, 07:59:46 PM »
The Hangover gang return and this time Stu is getting married in Thailand. After what happened last time in Vegas, Stu wants nothing to do with a bachelor party or Alan. Once in Thailand however he decides to have just one drink with the gang, plus his future brother-in-law. Next think you know, most of them wake up on the floor of a dirty hotel in Bangkok with no idea where they are or how they got there, it happened again!

I don't know, the movie is entertaining, but the magic is missing. It's such a forced sequel with the exact same plot and formula, all the way to the end with the shocking "pictures". Not only has this been done, it's been done with the same cast, just not as good.

It's a good escapist movie because you probably liked the original and it'll will be comforting having everything from the first movie back, but it reaches a point where the actual characters are no longer shocked at the "Hangover" antics.

See it for a mindless comedy.

Could this be a victim of very high expectations?

Or is it more of an Austin Powers type sequel where they just do all the same jokes in a slightly different way?

You'll find the movie entertaining, no doubt. But you've seen it before.

The trailer tells you that it's the same movie.  I liken it to AC/DC.  They put out music and it's all pretty much the same and it all rocks.

Can't wait to see this.

I liked this as much as the first one.

It is very funny. Can't wait till Allan gets married.

If you liked the first one you will love this, as long as you are not expecting a totally different plot.

One thing that should never have happened is the reveal of Stu's tattoo in the promos. That should have been a great laugh. It is still really funny, but would have been better as a total surprise.

It would have been slightly better had they involved Doug in the main cast this time, but even he was separated so they could have the exact same guys doing the same thing.

He's like the Ernie Hudson of the group then, eh?
