God of War: Ascension
« on: April 16, 2013, 11:59:50 PM »
Picked this one up on release day, finished it late last week.  I don't know if they ran out of ideas, or just decided to cash in, but this game was missing something that was present in all of the other GOW games.  It was still beautiful, fluid and refined...but there was just nothing about it that made me want to play it.  I was a HUGE fan of the franchise too, I'd rate this one at a B.

Story wise, it was a total "meh".  The parts where he's holding his kid in the field wasn't even in the game.  There's a ton of back and forth time period stuff and I felt like the game/story was pretty brief.

Onto Bioshock Infinite!

i feel the same way. no motivation to play it, and the glitchiness of the whole thing really put me off. i got a camera glitch which prevented me from advancing from where i was, because the camera couldn't follow. the solution? i had to replay the entire god damn chapter, including a 10 minute boss fight. then after i replayed it there was a glitch where it didn't auto-save, so i lost about three hours of play.

Wow, how did that game get released with those kinds of glitches?

Gotta love AAA blockbuster Michael Bay School of Filmmaking Gaming.

i don't know, but i definitely wasn't the only one it happened to. i started googling to figure out how to advance past the bridge i was on, because i assumed there was just something i had to do. google brought up multiple links from people who had the same issue.

some bullshit.

I had a camera glitch, right after seeing the oracle and putting the bridge back together.  I think it was called Road to Delphi.  Really annoying, I hate having to resort to googling things...but if I didn't I'd still be there.

i think that's the same one. did you get to the end of the bridge, but the camera refused to pan to the next area?

I crossed the bridge, spoke with the oracle and was supposed to enter the cave to move to the Delphi area.  Camera wouldn't change.
