Topic: Star Trek: Discovery

Anyone following this:

Michael Burnham = Kara Thrace

Captain Lorca = Admiral Cain

Klingons = Cylons

Discovery = not based on Trek, but on another character based space drama.


Maybe not a perfect fit, but is anyone else seeing more in common with Galactica Reimagined then with Trek?

I finally binged this.  Roddenberry would roll over in his grave. I didn't know it was set right before TOS.  Hey, at least we get Vulcajs and Klingons.


I've never seen BG so I can't comment on that.


It's a mix of the new TV era.  Alot of people die.  Some come back.  There are some twists that are interesting.


The idea of Discovery's purpose and ability is incredible.  They borrow some TOS and TNG storylines but come up with clever reasons why the others wouldn't know.


I almost gave up around Episode 11.  I'm glad I didn't.  The cliffhanger is a fanboy'' dream.
