The WWE has confirmed today the WWE Network exclusive cruiserweight show that we had been reporting about the past few weeks in the Observer.

The show, entitled the Global Cruiserweight Series, will air on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m., following NXT.

It will be a 32 man tournament of wrestlers who all have to be under 205 pounds, and will be taped at the NXT tapings.

The first episode of the show will be on 7/13, and the championship match will air on 9/14.

The winner of the tournament, which is expected to include a number of wrestlers who are not signed with the promotion, will obviously end up with the promotion and be billed as the best cruiserweight in wrestling.

Triple H is God.

Sounds like this is WWE's version of New Japan's Best Of The Super Juniors.

I am OK with this.

Get Ricochet.

I'm pretty sure that Ricochet is tied up with LU contractually and cannot appear.  That's what I think I read somewhere at least.

Ole dude teased something could happen, but yeah with LU and the New Japan I bet he's probably tied up between the both of them.

And I don't get why people are hurt by it. The WWE has a network, they need new original content for it, and before they start delving more into non-wrestling stuff they should be doing stuff like this. This is only a good thing.

I don't see how a Cruiserweight tournament could be done for the "wrong reasons" outside of having a midget win it or something.

Plus, since this will likely be alongside NXT, there will be a good production value vs. your average indie fed that looks like it was filmed with a high school camera.

Off to a great start.  Tozawa is a pleasant surprise!  Ciampa being part of this signals they are being lax with the 205 lb weight limit.

Do these guys actually have wrestling matches or is a bunch of old TNA type stuff where they just do flips and stuff?

Ciampa is awesome and we saw him in ATL.  Here's that match...which rules.

Salty language from the crowd, be warned about that.

I'm familiar wih Gargano, he's quite good. Though he's already in NXT so his inclusion is no surprise.

I've only seen Sabre once on a PWG show

Sabre and Will Ospreay stole WrestleMania weekend today at Evolve 58.

It could just be coincidence, but it's interesting to note that this will tape within a few weeks of the aforementioned New Japan Best Of Super Juniors.

People raved about the CWC Bracketology show on WWE Network last night.  They are going with more of a pure sports build here which is a nice change of pace for WWE although NXT kind of does that as well.
