Shocked the world by ending Bruno Sammartino's record seven year title reign. Had titles matches against Bruno, Pedro Morales, Superstar Graham, and Bob Backlund. Went on to become a mainstay in the Mid-Atlantic/Crockett NWA era with nephew Nikita and Krusher Kruschev. Memorable feuds include The Rock & Roll Express, The Road Warriors, and Magnum TA.
