One of the early Intercontinental Champions. Feud with Pedro Morales lasted the better part of two years. Was a contender to Hulk Hogan's world title early in Hogan's reign. Spent most of his career as a hated villain, but did have a babyface run as "The Rock" Don Muraco under the tutelage of Superstar Billy Graham. Early holder of the ECW Title when it was still Eastern Championship Wrestling.

One of the workhorses for WWF during their national expansion. Frequent opponent of Hulk Hogan while still holding the IC Title. Held numerous singles titles across territories in both singles and tag team competition. Has teamed with Ric Flair, Brutus Beefcake, Don Fargo, and The Honky Tonk Man. Brutal Dog Collar Match with Roddy Piper over the NWA US Title from the original Starrcade is still considered an all-time great match.
