I get what you're saying about Cody but the funny thing is, is to me that's perfect.  Honestly over the last few years I've cared more about the IC Title than any other title in that company as it seems the guys who actually work and know what the hell they're doing are the ones either holding said belt or trying to get it.  The main event scene has been pointless for so long even before the brand split to me.  The brand split hasn't helped any either since the WWE Title went to SmackDown so Raw went and made their own...the WWE UNIVERSAL Champion.  Sounds more important.  Why they couldn't just do like they did for the Tag and Women's divisions where it's the WWE Raw/SmackDown Women's/Tag Team Championship is beyond me.  So while the better wrestlers are feuding for the WWE Championship it feels hollow to me

Marty Scurll took a lot of heat for his match going over. Way over, by like 12 minutes. Apparently, the Bucks were going crazy as it happened and they gave what were some obvious signals for the match to finish but they were ignored or not seen.
That's why the Main Event was cut in half and that's why at the end Marty didn't come out with everyone for a curtain call, although that was his call.
It was a great match, perhaps best of the night but he is a veteran at this point, he should've known when he was going over by such a large amount.

I had noticed that match went a long time. I just figured it was to play off the "Marty has no chance" story in that it took Okada so long to beat the guy that supposedly had no chance.

I figured it was Okada as well. He had a very important story to tell for Marty to put him over while pinning him.

I think that and the Hangman Page match went long.

Hangman went long too, but only by a few minutes, plus they had the after match angle.
Hopefully, this turns into a rib on Being The Elite and no long term friendship problems.

Reports are saying gate was 435k, ippv gross was a million.  Do you think Cody and the Bucks made anything after expenses?

It didnt add in merch which I'm sure they made a killing. Southpawjosh reported the lines were so long well into the start of the show.

I can confirm that. There were guys showing how they had only moved about 20 feet in as many minutes.
