Dracula (Netflix)
« on: January 05, 2020, 01:32:15 AM »
New series from the guys who created Sherlock. Same format - three episodes, 90 minutes each. At the start, it borrows heavily from Stoker's novel, but they've put their own spin on it.

Just finished the first episode - the first hour is actually a bit boring, but it really picks up in the last 30 minutes. Sister Agatha is a very interesting, up to and through her big reveal. And while you're not rooting for The Count, he is a lot of fun to watch. And there's a slight hat-tip to Sherlock that's easy to spot.

Really neat swerve to end Episode 2, and now I want to watch #3, but it's late. Dammit.

The actor playing Dracula looks like he could be Christopher Lee's grandson.

I came across this last night while looking for something to watch with the fiance, but we weren't in a Dracula kinda mood.  I'll watch it soon though!

The episode 2 end swerve definitely caught me off guard and made me go straight into episode 3.
I see what you meant by rooting for the Count.  Interesting character for sure, and Agatha was very fun.
