The WWE succeeded big time with this episode of Smackdown, in making me give a shit about a nothing match that ultimately will mean nothing in the long run.

That finish between Otunga and Santino, even though I knew the outcome, was excellent.

Two points:

a) I don't care whether Santino gets eliminated in 10 seconds in the Chamber or wins it, but that battle royal was excellent

b) Otunga has it, and is going to be pretty significant in the next few years once he learns to wrestle.

Crowd liked Santino's moment.  Booker's color commentary actually helped as it illustrated how Otunga was making a mistake by not going for a quicker finish.  I wouldn't have as much a problem with it if it weren't for Santino "hulking up."  That was stupid, but the fact that it lead to false rally was kind of cool.  He HULKED UP and then Otunga took the momentum back until the fluky finish.

All-in-all it was fine, I suppose.

I've been saying that since the begining. Look how much you want to hate him. Even his own fiancé hates him (he won't sign the pre-nup, I read it in Heat magazine). Also, we're at the height of celebrity culture, and the sooner they make Otunga a face of the company, the sooner WWE gets tonnes of free publicity in every weekly glossy magazine in every western country.
