I just played the first one. It's sort of plotless, humourless and stupid, to be honest, but you get ludicrously overpowered, so it's fun as a sandbox but not much fun as a game with a purpose. I'm not sure Prototype 2 is supposed to be much different.

That's roughly been my experience so far with 2. There's a story, but it's hard to care about it. Still, running around the sandbox world, bouncing off buildings, eating people and shooting dick tentacles at mercs is decent fun.

Still playing it! Really, this one's quite a bit of fun.

UPDATE: By the time you get to the third island in the game, everything is pretty awesome. Seriously fun game, this.

A mutant used a leg sweep on a tank, I surfed on a zombie corpse, I have a hell whip, Jimmy Fallon got shot in the face and you get to rampage like crazy.

Prototype 2's ending left me flat, but the updated game engine kept me playing just to see what they'd added.

I even got used to the new power system.  Helped me to learn some new combos.

Ending worked for me -- simple and following a cool, no-bs boss fight.

Helluva game. Never played the first one.
