Recently, I went in for a regular dental checkup and almost immediately afterwards I noticed a funny pain in my mouth. At first, I contributed it to nerves (hey, I am going to a dentist).
Then, I started noticing I have troubling swallowing liquids and eating solid foods. I made a doctor's appointment and the doctor ran some physical tests. She then determined I had Bell's palsy.
Luckily, my face wasn't drooping entirely -- but I had sharp pains in my left eye and the left side of my face seemed to have no muscle control (couldn't hold a smile on my left side). I could really care less about that part, just more of the difficulty eating and drinking.
I was then placed on steroids which have helped me a lot but I seem to have a surplus of energy now. That's fine -- but it messes with my sleep schedule a bit.
So I figure I let you know what's going on since you haven't heard from me in awhile.
By the way, no Jim Ross jokes.
