Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara
« on: June 22, 2013, 07:24:34 PM »
Co-worker just informed me this was just released on June 18, 2013.

SO much nostalgia right now.  Picked it up instantly.

Still have my copy of AvP2 but I'm assuming you meant the odd arcade game where you could play as a Colonial Marine or a Predator.

Yeah I think it was just calle Spider-Man and Friends. It was the only game I can recall (coin-op or home) that had Black-Cat as playable. My local arcade had it, but it was very difficult.

The AvP arcade game was rumored to be based on the original script of an AvP movie. The big dude with the gun hand was allegedly going to be Arnold, and Ripley was replaced with the sword chick. But it was supposed to be written so that it would star Arnold and Sigourney Weaver. At least that's the story I heard.

Game was a real coin muncher.  It hits you with Scorpion AND venom, along with some mooks, all at the same time, on THE FIRST STAGE.

Nice selection of characters though.  Black Cat, Hawkeye, and even Namor are selectable (Namor??  Why did they put him in a Spider-Man game?  And is this the first and only game he's been in?)

Finished a run through.

It's pretty much Punisher beta, right down to the Kingpin being a major boss (Although not the final boss in Spidey, but Doom felt kind of out of place anyways)

Basically, everything Spiderman does, Punisher does a lot better.  Still worth a play, imo, just to see the stuff they throw at you (Like an army of Venom's dropping from the sky at one point..)
