Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
« on: November 16, 2010, 09:53:33 PM »
Picked this up on the way home from work tonight.  I'm a total nut for the story mode, so I'm playing that first.  However, I'm eager to try out the new multiplayer once I'm done with this.

So far, thumbs up.  But I'm very early on yet.

Nearly a week in, and I still like this.  The game play is generally the same as the second game, but I like some of the additions.  Great fun calling in a rain of arrows or summoning assassins and watching them swarm your target.

How's the story so far? Does it follow up well on AC2? Does it stand alone well enough on it's own?

If you hurry, you can get AC: Brotherhood for $40 on Amazon.com

It's a total sequel, since the entire story continues from AC2.  You would probably be lost if you didn't play the first one.  It's a great game, though.  They took everything that made AC2 good and added to it.  Rome is HUGE and it's fun climbing the Colosseum and the Pantheon.  It's less fun when you're nearly at the top and accidentally jump off to your death.

Online is fun, but I like the single player a lot better.

I just finished the storyline this weekend.  Took quite a bit longer than I thought it might given how quickly they put it out.  It's definitely a sequel, but I think it's solid all by itself.

I like the addition of kill streaks to get yourself out of a crowd faster.  And it's still a kick to call your assassin recruits for help in pretty much any situation.

I saw the commercial for it tonight, and it shows Ezio with the glider and a parachute.  When do you get to do that?  I finished the storyline and never came across it.

I believe I got the parachute by talking to Leonardo after destroying all his war machines.  The parachute is the glider thing though, not two different things.

Finally delved into the multiplayer, and I really like it.  Played a couple missions of "Wanted", which basically has you stalking one person while another person is stalking you.  It can get pretty intense as you close in on a victim only to get a knife in your back from a guy you didn't see.  Fun stuff!
