just cuz I paid $100 for a ticket doesn't mean I'm going to start "Fandango'ing" because Jerry Lawler told me to.

Meltzer reporting that there are higher ups in Vince's ear convincing him that Owens is nothing and shouldn't be given a push. He alludes that it is Kevin Dunn, who feels that he will be replaced once HHH and Steph gain full power. HHH is a big fan of Kevin Steen.

So, that would explain the tapout last night and the "losing streak". Hopefully it gets sorted out, but politics in wrestling are nothing new. Odd that HHH is on the losing side of it for once and NOW it sucks.

When Owens loses to Balor at Barclays Center for NXT Takeover, Owens will be 1-4 in WWE Network specials since debuting on Raw, including losing 4 in a row.

Edit:  Actually, 2-4 since he beat Zayn two days after he debuted on Raw.  The losing streak would still be accurate through.

Yeah, that is a bit worrying. No way he regains that title, so now what? Round 4 against Cena where he finally wins the US Title? What would be cause for Cena giving him another match?

I'm not really surprised at this point. How anyone expects to get over in the WWE is beyond me.

Same reasoning for Cena getting Rusev to give him another US Title Shot when Rusev didn't want to.

Rusev kept losing gimmick matches and with interference. All 3 finishes in this feud were clean. Seems that things are wrapped up.

Just caught up on this PPV. Not surprised you rubes cared about that non-finish, but it was real good. Seth had already  tried to bail on the match which explains his disappearance, and that was clearly Undertaker's moment. No need to bring refs and commentary into it. Just close on his killer, surprise return.

It's not a big deal. And it's not like the ending wasn't any good. The brawl the next night was classic.

I saw cell phone footage of UT's return and you can see Chioda around ringside afterward, so it's really just Rollins who disappeared.

I've seen speculation that Rollins is turning into The Undertaker. So far they haven't been seen together, and Rollins happens to magically not be around when Taker shows up. But if that's the case, Jeff Hardy is also in there somewhere, because the last time we saw him was when Undertaker showed up at the end of a SummerSlam match between Hardy and Punk in the same fashion.

It's not that the match ended in a run-in, it's that there was no match ruling.

Plus I think it would have had that little extra topping to have Seth run back out and grab his belt, celebrating like he'd just won the Super Bowl.

It's looking pretty clear someone got in someone's ear when you look at the way Owens has been booked the past 3 weeks.

7/6 Raw - Totally backs down from Cesaro; gets AA'ed like he is nothing after Cena just won a 30 minute match.

7/13 Raw - Walks out of the triple threat with Cesaro and Rusev.  This is the only "chicken" moment that was tolerable because Owens would have to win 2 matches to become U.S. Champ and he already had a U.S. title shot guaranteed in 6 days.

Last night on Smackdown - Walks out in the middle of a match with Rusev.  This was so dumb.

I can't believe this is the same guy they let powerbomb Machine Gun Kelly.  If MGK shows up to Raw on Monday, he would be punking Owens out at this point.

And now the IWC is complaining about his alleged demotion.

Owens looks to be feuding with Cesaro next.

Only the IWC would get upset that we're getting Kevin Steen vs. Claudio Castagnoli a national stage.

I'm not a fan of him walking out on two matches in one week, but he was pretty goddamn entertaining on Smackdown. His promo with Cesaro in the back was great, and him coming back out after the main event (a great match between Cesaro and Rollins) was also excellent. We're going to get Owens vs. Balor on the 22nd and Owens vs. Cesaro at SUMMERSLAM the next night. I mean fuck, if that's a demotion sign me up!

The first time Owens looked like "just another guy" to me was when they sent him out there to break up Taker/Lesnar.  I saw Sheamus out there too FWIW though.

Everyone was out there except for three or four guys. Including HHH.

Triple H was out there for obvious reasons though.  Owens and Sheamus were the highest level guys I saw, but I was on vacation so I may have missed a few.

A lot of people had problems with it. Personally, I think it's a bit nitpicky, but I can see why people have a problem with it.

I don't have a problem with it, but I think it does speak to where WWE sees him and it's not as high as some thought when he showed up is all.

Heck I'd even say that Owens is somewhat on the level of Sheamus in such a short time is not something to cry over. But that's just me.

It's not, but it's also not where people thought he'd be based on his debut.  What concerns people more probably is the rumors that he's caught in a political battle between Triple H and Kevin Dunn.  Another concern would be the fate of most of John Cena's challengers once he's done with them.

In August of 2014.

So when did the change happen? When do the statutes of limitations expire so we can ignore character continuity?

And for what it's worth, Steph was clearly the heel opposite Ronda Rousey and THE FREAKING ROCK at Wrestlemania this year. Or is that also too long to think back?

When did she become babyface giving the people what they want?

If the Rousey tease follows through then Steph will be back into heel mode come next year. Do you not see how this makes the audience look like numbskulls?
