What would happen if Cena made racist rants and the audio got out?

I think they'd fire him, but again, like Hogan, give it enough time, and the door is open for him to return at some point.

If he said those same things and in that same tone they'd have zero choice but to fire him since he is the face of their company.

It depends on who he is being racist against. Blacks, definitely. Anyone else would probably just be a slap on the wrist.

They'd pretty much have to, and Cena being so important to them only increases the pressure from a perspective.

Yeah, maybe they could ride it out, but I don't believe they'd take the risk.  And the shareholders certainly wouldn't tolerate keeping him on.

And the WWE would have to publicly acknowledge it during one of their broadcasts and quickly distance themselves from him.

Speaking of this I must admit I cringe now when I hear Cena do his "rap voice."  It wasn't as bad before he started using his normal speaking voice all the time, but when he turns it off and on it comes across poorly IMHO.

I still don't think they'd fire him. Take him off TV for a month or so, make him do a phony apology tour and hug Al Sharpton and make stupid donations to the NAACP, but he still makes them too much money. Besides, his merch sells in Nascar country and while not thrilled about it, I am sure they won't mind too much if he is caught using the N word.

The problem with that is he would talk too much, he never shuts up.
