Punk is the kind of guy who will have so much vaginal bleeding over Batista coming back and Triple H taking spots he should have had at WrestleMania, yet he will feel no remorse about his 38 year old, never had a single MMA fight headlining a card when another kid who is coming up could have got his spot.

Fuck CM Punk. Fuck him and his equally arrogant cunty wife. I can't wait to see him get knocked smooth the fuck out and sent back begging Vince to take him back.

Apparently, Punk is over 200 pounds and needs to cut down to 170.

So......the fuck? Who is your conditioning coach? Does he have one?

I call BS. On the UFC Punk special series, in episode 2 he weighs 196 and consults with a dietician on a plan to get him down to 170, and this is months ago. By the end of the episode, which takes place over the course of several weeks, you could tell he had probably already dropped 10 pounds.

BTW - wasn't Punk a vegan too, along with Daniel Bryan? Because on this episode, he and April and one of his friends go to a steak house and they all order big steaks. Just thought it was interesting, because IIRC Bryan is no longer a vegan either.

In fairness, he's not headlining the card - I think he's 3rd fight from the top. And the kid he's fighting has only had two fights, and I don't think he'd have a UFC deal himself if not for fighting Punk.

You're right on both points, but the counterpoint is that Punk is heavily in the advertising and he's probably getting paid a ton of money. Which I understand and have no problem with, I'm just saying going by his own standards of judgement it's some bullshit.

And the kid he's fighting is on the card because they think Punk has a shot against him. Either that, or they think he's going somewhere and want to boost him by having him be the guy that jacked CM Punk up.

The "kid" Punk is fighting has only 2 fights, yes, but both were first round rear naked choke submissions. I wouldn't laugh at him, he's a brown belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and has a Blue Band in Muay Thai - he's put some serious work in.

Yeah he's a tough kid but I'm saying UFC wants the least established but most credible guy they can.

He stopped being vegan just a few months after doing it due to lack of options.

As far as his weight goes, that is from Punk himself on a conference call just days ago. So, I don't know if he is playing mind games or what. It's no secret he isn't a gym rat and has never been dedicated to fitness. So, I can see a prima donna like him slacking off.

He has, but guys with only two pro fights don't typically get UFC contracts, much less land on PPV this quickly. I was responding to Fatty's point that Punk is stealing some other young guy's spot. Even the most cynical view of things would have to grant that Punk couldn't take anybody's spot in the promotion if it wasn't being offered to him. So if you thought there was blame to cast, it would lie with the UFC, not with Punk.

I don't blame anybody for Punk's "spot" - as has been said, props to Punk for even getting in the Octagon - akin to Jordan or Tebow trying baseball after their first careers were done, but UFC saw a marketing opportunity and they will make money off this card because of Punk's wrestling popularity. It's simply smart business on their part.

I agree more with Fatty that UFC is giving Punk the most credible opponent they can while giving Punk a chance to gain a victory. Yes, Gall only has two pro fights, but most likely got his UFC contract primarily because he was 3-0 with two submission stoppages as an amateur, and held titles in other organizations (all of which no one has really heard of, but it adds to the resume).

It's hilarious though considering his whining about part-timers taking spots from full-timers in his old job.

It is smart business and it makes him look like a bit of hypocrite.

Well, Punk weighed in at 170 this afternoon. No worries there.

Will this PPV be in the Top 10 for UFC PPV buy rates?  Does he have that pull?

I think a lot of everyday people are interested in seeing Punk fight.....at their local sports bar. I don't see them shelling out $60 for what could be a 45 second fight.

I will be interested to see how the fight goes, but I won't watch any of it or pay anything for it.

Punk is now +300 on Bovada.  Wonder what is driving the longer odds.

A lot more people taking Gall than expected perhaps? I know he was the favorite, but maybe the betters didn't seem him being a 90% favorite.

If he wins this fight, I'll make it a point to watch his next fight live. I just don't want to see a 20 second fight where he gets knocked out and will obviously never fight again.

I think the fight will be surprisingly competitive though. He can say whatever he wants about just wanting to fight, but he has a massive ego and insecurity problem. I really doubt he would agree to a fight if he and his handlers didn't think he was ready.

Punk out now - looks focused. Gall looked very chill when he came out.

Gall takes Punk down right off the bat - took control. Punk defended as best he could, escaped the choke a few times, but Gall eventually locked it in and submitted him at 2:14.

Punk showing great sportsmanship afterwards.

He may be able to get one more UFC Fight after this, but he's done if he loses that too. He can definitely do with another 6 months worth of injury free training.

Punk all smiles being interviewed by Rogan - "In life, you go big or you go home." Says he'll be back.
