People who bitch about Hollywood only spending their money on remakes and sequels and bemoaning the fact that they never do anything original, and still bitch about this movie, are hypocrites. Paramount got Lawrence and Aronofsky on board without spending a ton of money, and then took a massive swing in terms of story. We can debate on just how far the ball went, but sooner or later, we will tire of comic book movies, so it would be nice if studios, directors, and name actors were still willing to take a chance on weird stuff like this.
