3/5/18 Raw is Rowdy
« on: March 06, 2018, 10:04:06 AM »
I feel like such a lemming for biting into the Rousey / Angle vs. Stephanie / HHH match.  I still don't like Steph.  Rousey needs some major mic work.  I'm surprised she hasn't had acting lessons considering the TV shows and movies she's done.  It was nice to see Angle get his balls back.  They need to give us more of that.

Nia vs. Asuka part 3 was given a predictable match on Raw.  She's tapped before but they really took the wind out of Nia's wings on this one.  Asuka makes me stop fast forwarding when she wrestles.  This match was better than their EC match.  It's time to make Nia like Strowman.  At least Vince got his big girl to cry.

John Cena gives a sales pitch for Fastlane under the guise of just needing mic time without being interrupted.  Cena's still money.  Goldust coming out seemed about twenty years misplaced. It was nice to hear the movie cliches but it fell flat when it turned into a match that lasted less than five minutes.  Thank goodness that win over AJ wasn't wasted.

Elias can play the piano and the drums!!!! He is the true One Man Band.  Who knew!  Man, he can sail on this gimmick for a long time.  No wonder they showed Hillbilly gym immediately after his promo with Angle.  Corey shoots and tells us the car is in neutral.  Elias deserved a little more offense in that match, especially after playing all the instruments.

The Mizzle awards were awesome!

Heyman gets the end of the show and cuts the promo to solidify Brock's interest in UFC and comparisons to the Taker.    Man, Heyman is incredible. Reigns is running with this brilliantly.  Reason #2 that I feel like a lemming.

I have watched each of the Ronda segments thus far, and if anything it seems she needs some lessons on timing more than anything. She isn't too bad on the mic and her facials and reactions aren't all that bad at all. You can tell she wants to be there, and isn't just going through the motions, but she needs to be in front of more live crowds to get a better idea of how to react to them, and to time what she's saying. That's all about cadence at the end of the day, and will probably come as she does it more. They should limit her mic work now and try to focus more on some pretty intense physical segments. Steph should ideally have a (female) bodyguard present until Mania, someone Ronda can bounce around in these segments before the match eventually comes, to show off some of her physicality. Most will know Ronda, but not every member of the WWE audience will have seen her fight or know what she can do. Let her Judo throw Nia Jax around, or maybe someone less "on the up". Shayna even?  Or do they maybe wait for her to be the logical first opponent after Mania. Steph & Triple H win via Shayna heel turn on Ronda?
