Hell yes. Picard is my Captain as TNG is what was on when I was growing up

The final TNG episode, "All Good Things" showed Picard 25 years in the future, working on his family vineyard. The TNG finale aired in 1994. 2019 will be 25 years hence.

So I guess we can look forward to beard-o Picard babbling like a lunatic.

That would be awesome! My understanding is it's a new series, but I'm not sure if it'll center around Picard. I know for fact that there are Trek fans (myself included) would would like to see a series in the 25th Century. If my Trek knowledge is right, TNG was in the latter half of the 24th Century. which would put this show at right around the turn of the 25th Century.

I doubt it will center around Picard. Sir Pat turned 78 last month - I think he prefers to keep his acting commitments light.

But him being there at all opens the door for all the old TNG gang to pop in.

After Blunt Talk, his options must have really dried up. You get the impression sci fi was never really his first choice.

But maybe he's gotten sentimental in his old age? Can't imagine he needs the money or anything..

To be fair when he was the celebrity guest on an early season of Top Gear he outright mentions he didn't want to do the show originally but was convinced by his agent to go do it as they didn't think it would last more than a season so he sold it to him as easy pay while getting to relax in warm and sunny LA

That's why Natalie Schaefer did the pilot for Gilligan's Island. a free vacation in Hawaii. She cried when it was picked up and she had to make the show

I did not know that about Natalie Schaefer. Makes me wonder how many famous shows that starred actors and made them famous, or in Stewart's case even more famous and known, were only done by said actor because they wanted the "free vacation" thinking it would go nowhere

I never noticed this before, and someone just made me aware. If you start at around 3:00, when they start improvising around Frere Jacques, and watch to the end, you notice that, not only is Picard's flute dubbed in from someone who knows how to play, but he''s got someone else's hands holding the flute from behind him.

I finished Episode 6. Frakes is an awesome director. It's obvious he is trying to honor the current audience style as of late while still giving the older fans familiarity of TNG.

This is a hell of a storyline for Picard. They've done well with no the guest stars of the past so far. I hope there could be way to do more in the future.

This show was worth the money I spent.
