Jim Ross is a bad addition for on air talent.  He is totally washed up and sounds horrible.  Just sign Kevin Kelly or Excalibur.

Punk would be a good get from a character perspective.  I doubt he is any good in the ring anymore.  He has not wrestled in 5 years.  A ton has changed in the last 5 years.  I doubt Punk can keep up with a Will Ospreay or a Kota Ibushi in ring.

I saw a headline for a video on YouTube, but I didn't watch it so I could be wrong, but it mentioned Punk turned down AEW. No idea if this is true or not.

I have enjoyed watching AAA matches at times but I wouldnt want to be in business with them.  I think AEW is making a mistake joining forces with them.  If they dont want WCW comparisons they shouldnt act like it.

Punk could be an announcer.
