« on: January 16, 2020, 11:25:08 PM »
Will premiere in a two night event - 2/23 and 2/24. Hank Schrader is due to make an appearance in the upcoming season.

The sixth and final season has already been announced for next year - 13 episodes instead of 10.

Season 4 still not streaming on Netflix.  Hope they give me enough time to get caught up.

And we're off.

If you haven't seen the premiere yet, I would probably suggest watching the last episode or three of Season 4. It's been 16 months since we've been here, and there was a lot of stuff I couldn't quite track watching tonight's episode cold.

Best season so far.
Only nit I might pick here is I don't think they totally justified Kim breaking bad at the end there. In hindsight, I could piece it together a few different ways, but in the moment, it felt a bit out of left field.

I felt like this was more to do with Kim's life history feeding her fear of being alone. She wants to run with Jimmy as long as the wheels keep turning and she'll do anything to stay by his side I think. Sort of makes you feel there's tragedy ahead, as I can't see her ever leaving him. Where would she go?
Thing is, I don't think she needs to break bad to stay at his side. At the end there, Jimmy was trying to talk her out of her Howard plans. I get that, in some ways, Kim is as broken as Jimmy, and that's at the heart of all this. I think I'm just missing the more short term cause for her to behave this way.
I also hope they don't wind up bumping her off. I like the idea of Jimmy having the chance of a post-BB happy ending.
