Southampton sold a ton.  Hopefully, they don't end up relegated after this season.

That Chelsea stat is grossly misleading because they sell their bench players because they stash away 1st team players as 3rd stringers due to their finances. They just signed Loic Remy away from Arsenal to be their 3rd option at striker.

United just got Falcao on a loan, but the whole deal seems fishy because the loan fee was WAY too low. Heard a few "inside guys" say that they will sign him to an extension at the end of the season and pay their huge transfer fee to skirt the FFP rules.

ManU and Chelsea essentially make a mockery of FFP and Man City is already on probation. This really pisses me off because Arsene is a cheap fuck and today will end with Danny Welbeck coming over IF we're lucky. He hasn't changed. The team is still a 4th placed team.

Arsenal only gets Danny Welbeck. Once again, they pocketed their money and are fine with 4th place. They better hope Man U doesn't get their shit together after buying every fucking player they could, otherwise that 4th becomes 5th, and that's just assuming Everton doesn't get better.

If they get even one injury, they are in trouble.

Super Frankie comes on as a sub for Man City and scores against Chelsea.  Amazing.

Incredible comeback after going down to 10 men. Man City were the better team the whole game until the second yellow. Diego Costa is the new Suarez in that he is great, but he is also a terribly whiny bitch who needs a beating.

Tottenham lose at home 1-0 and Everton lose to Crystal Palace. Pretty much a week of underdogs.

Pardew is at Crystal Palace?  What happened with him and Newcastle?!

It's pretty awesome looking at the image on the top of this page and seeing Southampton still in the Top 4.

The traditional Top 6 teams are just taking turns shitting the bed every week with the exception of the Top 2. Southampton is playing full team soccer and it would be a shame if they did sell Morgan Schneideler(however you spell it) to Arsenal or any other team this month. That's the financial part about soccer that is ridiculous.

Man City just signed Wilfred Bony for $28 Million from Swansea City. Bony led the league in goals last year and has 9 this season. He will be Man City's FOURTH striking option. Like when Chelsea signed Loic Remy away from Arsenal so he can ride the bench all year and the dumbass said it wasn't about the money.

Sometimes, the money really fucks up the enjoyment of the league.

The 2022 World Cup is going to be played in November and December.  Going to be hysterical to see what a pain that will be for all of the domestic leagues.  FIFA quietly handed FOX the broadcasting rights to the 2026 World Cup as something of a makeup for the 2022 World Cup being played during a bad time of year for TV.

No word yet on how this will impact the 2022 MLS Cup.

The domestic leagues will have to shut down and revamp their schedules for the year. Can't have some teams missing half their roster for long stretches and then missing out on Champions League qualification.

Not to mention it cuts right into the actual Champions League group stage play.

I am starting to appreciate Mourinho as the great troll he is, because there is no way he believes any of the stuff he is saying. Between his complaints about other teams buying players and Chelsea being hurt by the refs while ignoring Costa literally stomping someone and not getting sent off, he is a master of his craft.

FIFA is so corrupt, it's like a whole organization of Obamas.

I'd still be surprised if it goes through, there is just too many bad ideas to move forward with this. Gonna cancel league games and make the fucking Champions League a non-priority for the World Cup? No chance.

That's definitely a performance that Arsene Wenger would be proud of, absolutely shitting the bed at home when it matters the most.

What's the point of making the Top 4 if you get the easiest draw possible for the Round of 16 and play like that?  Dreadful to give up the 3rd away goal like that.  Arsene knew there are two legs, right?

In another news, the 2021 Confederations Cup will not be hosted by Qatar.  The joke continues.

The point is to make Tens of Millions just by being in the Champions League.

Arsenal is the perfect team in terms of business because they turn a profit and do enough to keep turning a profit. That doesn't bode well when it comes to actually winning trophies, but it does if you look at it strictly from a financial point of view.

The loss for the team was probably for the best because they have virtually no shot at advancing now, so they can send backups to Monaco and concentrate on the FA Cup and finishing in 4th place again.

Why didn't Tottenham start Kane in the Europa League yesterday?  They blew a backdoor chance at qualifying for the Champions League.  After what happened to the club in 2012, you would think they would never waste an opportunity to qualify for Champions League football.

What value does winning the League Cup hold?  It seems like it is akin to winning the Maui Invitational in college basketball (or pick your holiday/tropical themed college basketball mini tournament).  A nice accomplishment, but really has no significance on anything else.

Starting next year, the winner of the Europa League gets qualification to the Champions League.

Did they get the date wrong?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014%E2%80%9315_UEFA_Europa_League

Quote
Starting from this edition, the UEFA Europa League winners will automatically qualify for the subsequent UEFA Champions League season if they do not qualify for the Champions League through their domestic performance.[5] Therefore, the winners of this tournament will qualify for the 2015–16 UEFA Champions League. They will enter at least the play-off round, and will enter the group stage if the berth reserved for the Champions League title holders is not used.

Oh shit, guess I got it wrong then. Then yeah, makes absolutely no sense that they didn't start their best player and perhaps the best player in EPL.

The odds of finishing in the Top 4 are far less than winning the Europa League.

Fucking Man City. Chelsea essentially wrapped up the league title today because they have no legitimate competition. Fucking Arsenal would be 4 points out of 2nd if they win this morning, that's how shitty the competition has been this season.

Chelsea won the League Cup over Tottenham today. Pretty sure that's the Capital One Cup but it's not worth anyone's time to check. The winner is usually whoever decides to field a real team for the game. Even Arsenal didn't field regulars and these 2nd and 3rd tier trophies are all they have to look forward to.

Arsenal playing at Man U tomorrow to go into the FA Cup Semifinals.

Is there anyone in the world who believes Arsenal doesn't fuck up somehow and wins this game? I'm actually thinking about betting on Man U.
