And another thing about CT: Our roads are awful.
We're at the junction between major metro centers like New York and Boston, Mass. Pretty much EVERYBODY passes through CT at some point.
So why do we have so many pathetic two lane highways? And our streets are even worse.. Just a half mile down the road, there's something like ten/fifteen stoplights in your way. That's the answer to everything, put up more lights.
In down town New Haven, there's one way streets all over. Whoops, took a wrong turn, well guess I'm lost now. (GPS? Hah, it will send you into a dead end claiming it's a turn.)
Yeah, it's no surprise though.. This is the same state that has a governor barking about revoking the non profit status of Yale, yet the guys on the board of Yale corp. This is the same state that has legislators willing to make a deal for a pipeline that doesn't benefit CT in the least. It's the same state that drove off businesses through excessive taxation, taxes spirits so high everyone goes across state to buy, overspent millions over budget on fuel cells it can't even use, stole a man's farmland and ignored him for years as he drove a van through town with signs and a loudspeaker calling the local government out... (Wayne Cook)
And then there's Bridgeport.
Point is, the roads are bad because the government folks let them stay had, and they do that because they just don't care. They're probably as corrupt on average as Chicago officials, if not worse.
