People who love to criticise, but rarely put their own beliefs out there (And usually say "safe things", like "Racism is bad!".  Yeah, way to take risks with those opinions.)

Family you shop for refusing to wait until Friday as planned, because maple bacon sausage's last day of sale is Thursday.

People just can't help themselves on sales, could they?  I mean, I always knew it, but doing someone elses shopping for the really drives home how impulsive shoppers can be if you put the words "sale" and "limited time" in print.  They may not even like what they buy, but hey, they're saving!

When you wish you can have a good, stiff drink, and it's only 11:30 in the morning.

Then I'd feel bad about drinking at night.  Or in the afternoon.  ;)

Poor management/leadership at a company.

Say, a pc rollout is happening, and things aren't going according to plan (They never do), and the top guys are frothing, while the middle guys are quaking in fear, and the tech guys are just doing what they do and trying not to laugh in someone's face when they get called into a sweating penguin's office..  (Because they know nobody on this planet could do the job without a hitch.)

So, umm..

I still like nostalgia, but not nearly as much near my 40's as I did in my 30's.  It's hard to discribe, but if I'm watching, say, Deep Space Nine, the "like it was in my teens" thrill is gone.

I might even *gasp" wish I was looking at something a little less dated.

Is that normal?  For the "nostalgia goggles" to tarnish with age?  (For the record, there's still things I'm nostolgic for, but it's like once you actually go back to it, it overwrites those happy memories, and you start to think a lot differently about it then those warm memories suggest..)

I do this almost every Sunday at 0600.  Me and the boys go to the local bar that's open.  Granted we're just getting off a 12 hour over night shift so to us it's "night time" lol

I personally think it's OK to have a drink at any time you want one.

I don't know how drivers just don't get it.

I bought a new vehicle (white 2017 Chevy Equinox LT) on Jan 14. On Jan 25, I'm driving home from work, down a major street with two lanes in each direction. I'm in the left most lane, and in the right hand lane as we approach an intersection, there's a school bus parked. Suddenly a guy shoots out from the intersection in front of the bus (assuming no one was there) right in front of me and I ended up hitting him.

A few days later, we're driving home down the same street and a guy changes lanes without looking and slams into the car next to him.

All this week, I've seen drivers just not paying attention. Same thing almost happened as in my accident above, yesterday we're driving home and a guy is on a cross street looking to his right watching traffic but not looking in my direction and just pulls out in front of me. Luckily I saw the person this time as there was no bus and I got on the horn and avoided another accident. This morning on the way to work a guy drives by me with both hands holding his phone while resting his hands on top of the steering wheel. The phone is in the guys' face - there's no way he can even see the road. I could fill this page with a dozen examples over just the past couple weeks.

WTF are people doing these days?

As for the drinking, if you're not getting in a car drink whenever the fuck you want (Disclosure: I'm pretty buzzed right now)

I've noticed the same thing around here.  Yeah, there's always been bad drivers, but lately it seems like it's getting worse.  No environmental awareness at all.

On top of that there's been a rash of super cautious drivers doing 45 in a 60 on the highway.  Overly aggressive + overly cautious in the same area = accidents, usually.

You start losing your appetite as you age, can't eat anywhere like you used to (I don't even bother with casino buffete's anymore), yet have trouble keeping your weight down.

You wish it were true about the appetite?

(Also, annoyed that Itunes isn't working/installing.  Suspect it may be because I never update windows...  which should totally be my decision and no affect how an app works with my system.  What does Itunes care if I'm even running genuine intel?  What do they care if it's a Korean knockoff?  Why would a third party app lock you out of using their service at all?

It's annoying, because I don't like fixing things that aren't broken, and never update anything if I can help it.  (Cue laughter from tech people...  Yeah, you guys overspend on shit anyways, some of us just want shit to work hassle free, reliably, for 40 years.)

Yeah, thanks for asking. Fortunately the impact wasn't huge, but still resulted in being without my car for over a month and it was just something that shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Jehova Witnesses.

Are they TRYING to look like they're casing the neighborhood?  I mean, up long private driveways, skulking around back yards, slowly looking up and down each home.

Just ring the door bell, leave your leaflets, and move on already.

LOL you want to work hassle free and run the newest and greatest software... keep Windows updated. Not only does new software rely on upgraded subsystems (especially if we're talking about music and video), but it's a pretty easy way to get hacked by not applying updates. I don't overspend at all, but you can be certain all my stuff is patched and updated regularly to keep it running right.

I shake my head, sir.

I respect your opinion, sir.  I simply think it should be the users decision (At least provide a "switch off" mode.)

Should also say I'm talking strictly a "play" set.  Never put work related or "credit card" info on it.

I "have" had things break or features removed on various updates, however.  (They have stripped down web browsers dedicated to streamlining old, reliable features, so I'm not exactly alone on this.)

What OS do you use?

Just thinking if you're Windows 10, you're SOL. You can defer updates, but never ignore them - and if you miss a month those patches are going to be included in the following months' patches. Older OSes you could get away with this.

Windows 7.

But in this case, I was actually talking about the Itunes app.  It was working fine, and then one day refused to let me access the exe (Something about administrator privileges, which was never a problem before, but which I tried changing anyways).  In the end, I decided to try an uninstall/reinstall, and now it doesn't seem to even recognize I'm using "At least Windows 7 service pack 1" (I'm using a higher service pack, only not up to date.)

Only thing I changed on my system was installing Firefox and Mcafee (Which is bundled up with the package), decided I didn't like either program, and individually uninstalled both.  Also, I've tried syncing Windows Media Center with a 360 for streaming media.

Maybe that did something?  It's either that, or an Itunes update which requires a Windows 7 update I've been putting off.  (I know, you can say "just do it", but this "play system" has very little horsepower as it is.  The thing can't even run Aero without lagging videos, and as you probably know Areo enables a lot of Vsync support.  Some apps like Windows Media Player don't need it, but Youtube videos, streaming, and games get tearing with Aero off.  As lagging is the worse sin, I leave Aero off..)

Bottom line, I only wanted Itunes for downloading some podcasts, and occasionally transferring things to my Ipad.

I'm probably better off just using Podbean and Dropbox at this point..
