So, I use ad blocking stuff like everyone else, and tried this solution specific to apple products (Iphone/Ipads), where you use a "fake" vpn that leads to nowhere, and causes ad brokers to send the ads to that non existent location, so you get nothing.
And it worked great. Video based ads would either not show, or show a loading screen for a few seconds and vanish. Banners ads and such were a thing of the past.
But recently, within the past few months, ads have started getting through. Everywhere. Mostly self playing video ads, or embedded videos you needed to click.
I don't know their trick (Using your devices own player somehow?), but I've got to wonder if there's just one or two ad services out there for EVERYTHING, or if everyone in the industry networks all the time about everything. I can't see any other way how a wide variety of services and websites would suddenly wise up and ruin a good thing.
And that annoys me. That whenever someone figures out how to ruin a good thing, everyone knows about it.
People are anti-social, except when it comes to ruining our good things.
