American Ninja Warrior commentators are pretty bad.. Worse then Cole by miles.  Even Mongo or Todd Pettingale wasn't as annoying.  And if a contestant is over 34, they act like they're 60 or something...  Like 40 year olds don't run marathons, or go down stairs without breaking their hip.

It doesn't annoy me YET, but it's sure to do so... saw a commercial for tubeless toilet paper rolls, and the center of said roll wasn't exactly... round. I'm gonna be at someone's house and have rage anger when their tubeless roll is flopping around aimlessly, and I can't get more than two squares at a single grab because the environment is going to shit because there's all these empty toilet-roll tubes flying around. I demand a smooth transition from toilet roll to the wiping process, dammit.

Walmart is the worst because they actually bother to put in like 25 registers and have two cashiers or whatever.  The self-checkout helps tremendously though.

no it doesnt.  every fucking time i use that self checkout i have an issue.  whether its when i buy alcohol, the receipt not printing, the scale not working (that's the most common), or something else i can't think of.  generally there's no one monitoring or they are helping someone else with an issue.

Banks (and stores) are designed and constructed to be able to handle maximum expected capacity and they are staffed to handle expected daily capacity.


Given the growth in things like ATMs everywhere, drive-thru banking, and on-line/mobile banking; the number of people that walk in for teller service is at a historical low.

Self checkout rules provided it doesn't get clogged with people that have 30+ items or whatever.  I had issues with them originally, but not lately.  We went into a busy Walmart on a Friday or Saturday night, hit the self checkout and was on our way.  It was great.

We still get the occasional person with 30+ items, but it's not that bad.

More annoying, is how so many people decide to rummage through their wallet or purse after everything is tallied up, taking their sweet time about it.

i have a problem 90% of the time.  the last time was just the other day and it was that the receipt didn't print.

i mind less when the cashier is having a problem because at least i know he/she is actively working to fix the issue.

i dont even bother on these weekends. 
 
1) not everything is tax-free
2) an item being tax-free isn't a huge discount in comparison to other discounts

In my experience, usually the store or middle managers are bad, while the department heads are pretty stand up..

Of course, middle managers are usually taking it worse then anybody..  This one fat walrus at Yale was sweating bullets, because of common holdups during a rollout.  Maybe he made promises he shouldn't have, but it's just as likely the guys above him had unrealistic expectations..

And if it's true infringements MUST be fought to keep trademarks intact and not piss off those who are paying for your ip, why was George Lucas able to not only look the other way, but actively encourage fandom to rip off his stuff in their various videos, webpages, costumes, fics, you name it.

Hanna Barbara giving their property away in a publicity stunt also kind of calls "bs" on Disney NEEDING to go after every last example of infringement or risk losing their trademarks.

george lucas has chosen to look the other way.  that's his choice. 
 
my guess is that he only does that for free fan fiction and not when someone is making money off his creation.  in other words, i bet he gets a cut of all the star wars books.
