All the effort sifting through half baked opinions and half truths/outright lies is better served buying a damned book..

"Security" features that don't really protect anything, and simply amount to a hassle.

Every time I log into an app to check my data usage, it asks me to log in, even if I asked it to "remember" my info. And worse, occasionally it demands to be updated before it even lets me in..

Now, granted, there's other ways to track your data usage, but I like to check in with my isp's app to make sure everything match's up on their end, so I don't go over..

And what's this process really protecting, anyways? My credit card isn't on my phone.. The worst that happens, is a hacker breaks into my device and pays my bill for me?

Easy pull metal covers. Things are a menace.

I've never nicked myself on a standard top you need to take a can opener to, but every once in awhile I'll catch a finger on the pop top versions.

Cumberland Farm has 1 dollar drinks, and sometimes if all you get is a coffee, this one cashire looks down her nose at you and asks Is that "everything?, with the emphesis on "everything".

This has been bothering me ever since McDonalds put out top end coffee, and I still hear it from time to time:

The idea that somehow, coffee shops pull from a different talent pool then McDonalds does.

This one area liberal rag (Pardon my soapboxing, but I think even Liberals would call it a rag

) featured cartoons that characterized McDonalds employees as pimple faced drooling idiots, asking if they can really handle the job of making a complex coffee order (Because you know, NOBODY just asks for coffee anymore, it's always half caffe part skim or however..)

Point is, I'm pretty sure all service jobs pull in the same applicants, given there's only so much you can actively discriminate..

People who behave in morally neutral, but annoying ways, and rationalize their behavior with reference to some combination of their ethnicity, gender, age, or religion (Ex: nagging woman says, "I can't help it - I'm a Jewish mother").

Some people just want a lifetime free pass to behave like idiots at their leisure.

Everything is everybody elses fault, and how dare anyone criticize you, only you get to do that.

It's amazing how quickly a couple can drop from well off, to struggling, as soon as one of them loses a job (Or in this case, chose to quit because she was told he could support both of them..)

Let me ask you something: Proper bank etiquette.

There's one guy filling out a check, no line, three tellers and three people being helped. Another guy walks in just as the first guy finishes his check.

Generally, it's accepted the guy who walked in ready goes next, vs the guy at the counter.. I'm not too sure about that in all cases. Me, I'd probably have let the guy who was waiting go first.

If a teller window opens up and the guy writing checks is still writing checks, then obviously the guy who's ready to bank goes first. But if all the windows are filled, and the guy writing checks finishes, I will usually let him go first.

That's exactly what happened. Two guys just standing side by side, not even i(n a line, and the one who came in acting like his life depended on getting there first. (It's not like the other guy was even vieing for it, he was waiting patiently. It's just the "You'd better not even try" air on the other guy.)

Boozy beers.

Nothing against a strong drink, but lately everything's become 7.5% abv and up. Believe it or not, some of us like the flavor of full bodied beers, and don't want to drink heavy all the time, much less put up with all those pee breaks..

Anyone have experience using Wal-Marts order online, in store pickup system?

The order was placed the 16th, and a range was given from the 17th to the 28th, which I thought sounded excessive but was probably given to cover them in case of delay's. We're on the 24th now, and still no word.

I plan to wait out the full period, but wondering if I should expect to get after them, and if it's common for them to have shipments in store and just laying around because nobody bothered to do their job..

Cutting past the backhanded compliments (Because it's still wanna be beer snobs*, it sounds good. On a diet especially, abv makes a huge difference (Most of the "beer fat" comes from alcohol)

Car in front of me: *Loads up personal garbage into can*

Car behind me: HONK HONK

Cifom: "LADY, WHERE DO YOU THINK THERE IS TO GO!! CAR ATTA SPEAKER, LADY!

Cbm: "AH SHUT UP!"

My grandfather asks what they're saying as I roll up the window.

Note that this is NOT uncommon behavior around here.

When something doesn't work, and you don't know why.

I hooked up a device via composites directly into the cable reciever, like you would the tv. And it wouldn't work.

Tried hooking into the dedicated composite outs, and it works fine.

So it works, but still scratching my head on "why" it doesn't work the same way the tv does via the cable box. Anything you plug into it, be it dvd, game console, or whatever, should work.

Those confirms NEVER come through. I must have clicked resend twenty times once, and nothing.

This one I've done before, I'm sure, but I don't care.

When you order a sandwich from a deli or a sub shop, and when they cut it in half at the end, they don't push the knife all the way through. So you try to pick up half the sandwich, and you end up pulling the other half of the bottom slice of bread with you. So then you have to perform pull-apart surgery on the bottom 1/3 of your sandwich.

This should be a fireable offense.

This also goes for pizza. Lately, it's as if they're afraid to cut through to the bottom of the box, which means I'm either pulling the slices apart myself, leaving half the cheese and toppings behind, or grabbing a knife to finish a job I had no idea it took two people to complete.

Get it together, Big Pizza.

I'm happy as long as they don't burn the thing, and make it taste more like the cardboard box then pizza.

Which a small shop deli does sometimes, which is a shame because they're up to Modern Pizza of CT standards when they're on.

While we're talking food troubles, the owner of a shoreline eatery that makes the best lobster bisque ever, with half of a large cup filled with lobster meat. So he happened to be walking his dog when I was out with mine at the same place/time. We got to talking about his business, and he tells me his wife makes the lobster bisque I love so much.

He then tells me part of their strategy is throwing in the dead lobsters from the tank. Which you're not supposed to do, because they go bad VERY fast, and there's no telling how long they were sitting.

Yeah.

I have one, every time you call into your bank or whatever and they make you go through automated menus where you give your name, account number, etc.

The SECOND you get a live person on the line they ask you for the same fucking information
