Why can't people be discrete, or at least not be so melodramatic about any little thing? Say, for example, you're an atheist dentist who takes over a practice, and you find out the old guard used to let nuns and priests get serviced for free.

Ok, so it's your house, and your rules. But do you HAVE to make a stink about it? When your secretary gently tells you this, since your current patient is a nun, do you need to throw a fit?

Do what you need to do, but come on.. What ever happened to "class"?

That is my boss to a tee. Flies off the handle at any little old thing, but then once you get a chance to get the bluster out of the way and get a chance to explain what's going on, he can settle down and have a conversation. Just don't get the point of always exploding before hand over every little thing.

Being a hypochondriac who also has a lot of medical problems, who keeps hearing stories about that guy/woman/relative who got cancer, suddenly develops a condition that could be cancer, looks up the symptoms online, and they all point to cancer.

So yeah, a bit worried.

This past month, I started off getting random things caught in the throat/esophagus, got put on a ppi for acid reflux (Which I have), and for the past two weeks I'm struggling with any meats/eggs. Three bites of a ham sandwich and I'm done.

So of course, I'm assuming the worst. The gastrointestinalologist will have a look this Friday.

On the positive side, I have no trouble at all with water, soup, crackers and peanut butter, protein bars.. Just stuff like ham or eggs, chicken, steak. And everything seems to be passing through ok..

I'd ask mine, but I can't get a straight answer.. Honestly, I don't think he really knows. Or he just doesn't feel like explaining.

Proton Pump Inhibitors/acid reducers: Could those have an effect on how much you can eat in a sitting?

It stands to reason insufficiant acid may result in struggling with, say, half a meatloaf sandwhich when you used to be able to handle two. I'm ravenous for them, but I just tap out after a certain point and can't "force it". (No such problem with nuts, chips, ice cream, beer.. So far, it's mainly deli meats, meat loaf, meatballs.. Basically, meat.)

Getting a scope put down my throat in a few weeks, because of related swallowing issues, but just wondering if anyone has knowledge/experience with this kind of thing (Say, if you have acid reflux yourself, and need acid reducers like I do..)

I listen to talk radio during my morning commute, and I'm getting sick of hearing women say the phrase "lean into ____" when they're being interviewed. Partly because I don't know what it is they are trying to say, but mostly because it seems like one of those buzz words that people toss around which doesn't really mean anything and gets used in a different context each time.

Watch for the arrow on the side of your gas tank picture on your dashboard. Whatever side the arrow is on, that's where your gas tank is.
