say goodbye to 2 player wii games.  one will probably come with the system.  a second controller will cost another $200.   :P

that looks stupid.

i thought the wii was stupid with the stupid motion bullshit, and every wii game i've played sucks ass.

i was pretty sure that i'd be buying one of the consoles from this generation, but instead i just got a kickass computer and have been playing PC games.  there are no games for any console that justify the $300 purchase (plus i don't even have an HD tv).  most of the big name, exclusive system titles are 1st person shooters, and as someone who has grown up playing online PC shooters I simply refuse to lower myself to using a gamepad.  not to mention the scores of 12 year old shitheads that populate the online console world.

Seriously. Smash Brawl, Mario Galaxy (1 and 2), Punch-Out, New SMB Wii and even Wii Sports are all cool-ass games. Don't hate, masturbate.

smash brawl - meh.  couldn't differentiate it from melee aside from a couple new characters.  nothing compares to the original

tried mario galaxy, hated it.  but i haven't liked a mario bros. game since SMB3

never played punchout, but it probably sucks

wii sports - i had fun with bowling, for about half an hour.

i'm sorry but the wii is a failure, and so is everybody who defends it.  i can't help it if i have high standards for my video gaming, that's what happens when you are a gamer.  for non-gamers, i'm sure the wii is all kinds of fun.  "wheeee, i can flick my wrist and stuff moves on the TV!  neat-o"

for me, the novelty wore off in under an hour.  after that, i had to beg my friend to hook up his original X-box so that we could play some games that are actually good.

this is the only time when wii is fun, when you are playing it with girls or old people.  playing wii with actual gamers is a frustrating clusterfuck of suck.

both of the people i know who own a wii regret their purchases.

Wii is such a failure that the other two systems rushed to produce add-ons that mimicked motion gaming because the demand for Wii was so outrageously huge, right? I mean, I don't particularly care for motion gaming myself, but you'd have to be a stubborn jackass not to see that it's the opposite of a failure.

Also, what Stan said.

Wii a failure? Possibly the dumbest thing anyone has ever said. The Wii made Nintendo a shitload of money and put them back on top for probably the first time since the SNES. Like any popular system it has it's shitty games that you have to weed through to get the good ones. The Wii just happens to be aimed at a different demographic than the 360 or PS3, and especially PC gaming.

Expressing your opinion is one thing..
Telling people who basically disagree with your opinion that they are a failure, and that somehow you have higher standards than them...that makes you lose all credibility.
I am not a huge Wii fan myself, but to say something as stupid(yes, stupid) as "herp derp if you like the Wii's game you're a failure...a non gamer... you have low standards".... no.

OK, you are a troll in this case.

Play Kirby's Epic Yarn and if you don't smile at all, you have no soul. Same with Wario Land: Shake It and New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Donkey Kong Country Returns is as hard as the 16-bit DKC's. Maybe harder.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade is another great Wii game. A Boy And His Blob as well. Boom Blox is great too -- No More Heroes (at first) and No More Heroes 2 are decent as well.

But no, stick with your dudebro shooters.

there are lots of things in the world that make shitloads of money for the corporations that produce them.  just look at the movie industry.  judging a video game machine based on how much money it made is the ultimate fanboy defense mechanism.  as i haven't purchased any consoles since the PS / N64 era, i'm not particularly loyal to any one brand.  but i have spent significant amounts of time playing on friends' systems, mainly X-Box, PS3 and wii.

in my experience, i find the wii games to be frustrating and shitty.  the most fun i've had on a wii was playing old SNES games that my boy d/led from the nintendo online store.

i'm sorry that i don't like this thing that all of you like.

i guess i am a troll

sorry.

i forgot that people still get sensitive about video games.  i am a bad person.

i am an elitist snob.

but then again, you all are jealous that I can play all the best, newest games with maxed out video settings, while you guys are flailing your limbs at a slightly improved gamecube.

the important thing is that we all enjoy playing video games.  we shouldn't focus on which games are clearly better, and i shouldn't use common internet slang (failure) when discussing such srs bsnss as wii games.

again, sorry for trolling y'alls

sorry for troll, POE.  but you are right.  i wasn't considering the fact that grown men can take such personal offense when internet strangers insult their toys.  but i'm a better person now, much more mature for sure. f'sho.

and lol at dudebro shooters.  i play lots more than just online FPS games, like strategy (real-time and turn-based), MMORPG, puzzle games, platformers, and the occasional flight sim.  i also have every single video game released for every single console (excluding PlayStation) chronologically up to and including N64 saved in ROM form.  I can also pirate pretty much any game if i'm interested in the single player, although lately i've been making money so i tend to actually pay for my games.

but like i said to someone else, i'm glad that you are enjoying your wii and your wii games.

I'm so confused.  What games should everyone be focusing on in the Wii thread?

You called the wii a failure. The amount of money it made is completely relevant to that argument. The goal of the wii is to capture the kiddie and super-casual markets. In those areas it was a complete, overwhelming success. You don't have to like it for it to be successful.

Are you living some kind of shitty gimmick through posting?? I feel like I'm talking to football from the old boards, or johnnshear, or something..

You made a statement that is categorically incorrect, and then used insults to back up your claims.. It doesn't matter what the topic is.. that's just... well... stupid.

I am a PC gamer too. My rig isn't tricked out to the point where I can max every game, but I'm playing on better settings than any of the big 3 consoles can put out... but even  I wouldn't throw down on the Wii like that. Tell my wife she isn't a gamer.. she'd slap you, and she plays primarily on the Wii.

My point was, just because something holds no appeal to you, doesn't mean those who it holds appeal to are lesser than you.. the topic just happens to be video games.

But I feel like I've fallen into a trap just by responding, so I'll stop doing so after this..

Nintendo is gayer than a room full of guys blowing each other. They release the exact same fucking game every time they put out a system, and Nintendorks lap that shit up. Get ready for MarioWiiU and MarioKartWiiU and MarioMarioMario.

How big is this room?
