Paranormal Activity 3 (2011)
« on: October 21, 2011, 05:29:43 PM »
This is the prequel to the prequel of Paranormal Activity 2. I loved the first one. It was very low budget and genuinely creepy due to what we couldn't see. The second one was missing the subtlety of the original and a little more far fetched.

This one is back to it's roots. It's VHS footage from the 80's when Katie and her sister first encountered the demon. This is the best and scariest of the three. Just like the original, things get worse and creepier every night and leads to no good, but better. The one negative might be your reaction to the ending, it's out there. But the rest of the movie is extremely well done and genuinely scary and suspenseful.

If you liked the original, you'll have to see this.

Judging from the previews, it looks like people get violently pulled backward far too many times for my liking.

Also, PA sucks donkey cock.

That is all.

Most of the trailer scenes were cut from the movie, so you get to see almost entirely new footage.

I think you're in the minority on the original. It had a very positive reaction. 92% on rotten with top critics.

Yeah, I know I'm in the minority on the first one.

The hype killed it for me.  Same with Trick R Treat.

u see that one yet?

I look at the original as merely a creative way to tell a story and not anything overly scary. The irony is "bump in the night" stuff I find scarier than blood & guts horror.

I actually thought that the first PA was one of the more well done horror movies that I've seen in years. It is the "low budget feeling" movie that Blair Witch was hyped as being, I would say. Blair Witch attempted to do the "what you don't see is scarier" theme, but they did it outdoors in the woods, which modern audiences don't really identify with (after all, how many of the people who went to see Blair Witch actually know how spooky it feels to be in the woods at night?).

PA being set in a house made it more easy to suspend disbelief, and the use of limited perspective and walking around the corners was incredibly, incredibly clever.

Wait so this is a prequel horror movie with the same characters in the other movies? With no chance of the main characters dying this makes this an epic fail for horror movies.

Then again you likely need to believe in things that go bump in the night to be scared by this stuff.

Also, there is nothing scary about being in the woods.

Have you ever been out in the woods alone at night? It's spooky.

Just the way you say Katie and her sister...like they are familiar to people who have seen the other PA movies.

I'm guessing you've never come across Big Foot.

We'll see who the pussy is then, tough guy.

It is sasquatch and I am not afraid of things that don't exist.

As for the real animals, anything that runs away when you stomp your feet and clap your hands is not worth being afraid of.

Americans are generally paranoid so I get Fatsexy's fear of squirrels.

Nope, I think it is because I don't have a vagina.

i'm guessing far more people have been killed by animals in the woods than babies killed by crib bumpers (27 over like 20 years).  taking a gun with you in the woods is paranoid; removing baby bumpers is not.  ok.

he's a big strong man that doesn't have a vagina and is not a pussy.

But he's anti-baby bumpers.   :unknw_mini:

I used to sleep in a one room cabin (that my dad, my brother, and I built when I was 13 years old) in the woods. I have slept in an abandoned shed with no electricity and a wood burning stove for heat, with the sound of coyotes as my lullabye. No gun was present. It was kind of eerie. I guess I am a pussy compared to the ultra masculinity that is Webby, though.

I guess all those frontiersmen in the past were two legged vaginas for carrying air rifles and knives, too.

First off, have said REMOVE the baby bumpers not leave them. But conprehension still remains an enigma to you.

Second here are the averages for animal deaths.
Quote
Average Number of Deaths per Year in the U.S
Bee/Wasp
53
Dogs
31
Spider
6.5
Rattlesnake
5.5
Mountain lion
1
Shark
1
Alligator
0.3
Bear
0.5
Scorpion
0.5
Centipede
0.5
Elephant
0.25
Wolf
0.1
Horse
20
Bull
3
[/t][/t][/t]
You are more likely to be killed by an animal you own then a wild one. A gun won't help you against a bee, spider, snake, centipede, shark or scorpion. Wolves kill 1 ever 10 years and mountain lions kill one a year.
So the reality is you are paranoid if you are afraid of things that almost never attack people.
