you're changing the bumpers (and i don't think the ones you described exist) so you're child won't be the 1 in 3MM to die. and that's not paranoia.
meanwhile, a guy who takes his guns to the wilderness to protect himself so he won't be, say, the 1 in 1000 who dies from a wolf attack IS paranoid.
you don't have to admit you are wrong (you never do), but if i'm reading it right, those are your two arguments. if so, that strikes me as odd. that's all.
and again, i don't even own a gun. those two things when put side by side strike me as a bit odd.
