Getting a Gears of War feel with how they roided Prime out.  :D

Looking forward to this game.  Grimlock is selling point enough, but Bruticus being a playable character sounds awesome.

War For Cybertron was awesome. If they're making improvements like they did to the Prime character, then this one will be off the charts. WANT.

I had hoped that the last game would lead into a game that takes place on Earth with some modern takes on classic characters.

I think that'll be the third game of the series. The first one set up the Autobots vs. Decepticons and the rises of both Optimus Prime and Megatron.

This one will be the war that destroys Cybertron (well, leaves it wrecked) and the end of the game will see the Transformers heading to Earth, with the third one being a present-day/modern take on the whole thing.

At least that's my take on the series.

He was made on Earth in the toon, but in the co-current comic by Marvel he and his Dinobots came from Cybertron, as an advanced party going after Shockwave.

This game sort of makes reference to that, by having Shockwave experiment on the Dinobots, giving them their Earth forms.

Yeah, different universes. Original comics, G1 cartoon, the new comic line, and the Cybertron game series are all different universes.

The comics were made specifically for the American audience, while the cartoon (as all cartoons sans the new CG one) was adapted from a Japanese cartoon. I'm sure Doc knows more but that's why they're different. The game I think can be looked at as an Ultimate type universe.

And you're not alone in wondering that.   :biggrin_mini2:

The short of it in the game:  at some point Shockwave visited or saw prehistoric Earth, and decided Earths Dinosaur forms would make ideal instruments of destruction in his experiments back on Cybertron.

IMO, that's the best explanation for the Dinobots being dinosaurs, ever.  I mean, they're supposed to be robots in disguise, and big metal dino's aren't exactly good disguises.   :crazy_mini:

and ftr, if i were into video games, i would totally be interested in this game and grimlocks inclusion, while illogical, would be in the plus column.

Didn't they have Trypticon in the last game? He pretty much looks like a dinosaur too.
