Is it true that this game doesn't run too well on lower end systems, even at lowest settings?

A podcast I listened to claims his 2.5 gz Core2Duo and Intel card was barely able to run it, even at lowest settings.

Sure, Intel cards suck, but this is Blizzard we're talking about. Usually their games run on systems a decade old at stripped down settings.

most of the newer integrated cards will run it (not great). rather have a graphics card at any rate anyways.

got installed, got my battletag, now for the longest 13 and a half hour wait ever...

Playing Diablo II now...

I hate spellcasters, which is what I'm playing. ^_^;

High def melee sorts, even if you don't know what you're doing you can usually solo fine, but glass canon types usually just die and die and die if you're no an expert in point distribution and kiting mobs..

i'll add you later horsehead, i am gonna take a power nap. so far, played my demon hunter, got him to level 8 and unlocked artisan bs. plan on being up around 8-9 and playing wizard with my monk friend when he gets off work, from the start.

i've stopped for the night.

got a 23 demon hunter who just entered act 3, and a level 9 wizard who is past the skeleton king. planning on leveling demon hunter with my rl friend (and whoever on my friends list jumps into my game haha, i got like 60 friends on there between 2+2 and wow real id, it gets crazy with achievements constantly flooding my chat box haha).

Yeah, the server issues and login problems are pretty much true. I was unable to login last night (no biggie) but the lag....in a single player game. Pretty bad.
My BattleTag is POE #1907.
I'm surprised by how "WOW like" Diablo III is....and I've been playing WoW free edition and it's pretty decent. Not sure I will commit to a subscription though.
EDIT: I see that fromthedirtydirty added me -- and he's way far ahead of me.
I try to play the game but my computer sounds like a jet engine after awhile.

Good game with fromthedirty and his friend. Sorry I kept dying -- I really need to work on my Demon Hunter or use a more 'tank-like' class (I may try with Barbarian or Monk next).

Is the portal system unchanged from the last game?

I preferred playing with friends, because you could each open a portal and use theirs at will without worrying about them closing up. Saved a lot of inventory space that way, and you could exploit them in boss fights.

they got banners, anytime you can click on someones banner in town and go to their location (except boss fights).

right now, witch doctor is 36 in act 2 nm, and demon hunter and wizard are chillin at 28 act 4 norm.

my witchdoctor is still 36, haven't played him since sunday. my wizard is 34, and my demon hunter is 41.

Wow, your played time must be ridiculous.

My monk is up to 36 and is nearing the end of Act I in Nightmare. I completely forgot how much Act I there still was after the Skeleton King (who only dropped blues for me in Nightmare, wth?).

I'm rocking some pretty nice stats overall now, my gear has come a long way. Took out Diablo at the 35 hour mark but I know there's a couple hours of AFK time mixed in. Did it on coop with a buddy who was at 30 hours and is generally a fast leveler. First time through I explored every single area of the map before moving on. In nightmare I am just happy to find the right path quickly.

I will try to remember to find my battle tag when I play tonight and post it here. I generally play from around 9p-12a EDT.

played time isn't too bad (and i have a few hours afk time as well, took a few smoke breaks leaving game up and running), i end up getting good gear on other guys as i am leveling, and plenty of gold doing all 3 like this, so i kill stuff really fast. also, most of my play time is co-op. auction house has been pretty good to me as well, right now stash is fully upgraded, jewelcrafter and bs are maxed for nm (need hell mats to level now). also, got my first legendary today, a warrior belt.

right now, witch doctor at 18:27 level 36, demon hunter 22:42 level 42 and wizard 19:56 level 42.

I have a barb around 24 and a DH around 19, still playing the first time through. I keep forgetting my battletag, I will post it up tonight. Definitely will be playing.
