For a big franchise, it doesn't get talked about on forums nearly as much as series like COD, Battlefield, or even Killzone..

What do you think of it?  Good games, great games, overrated game, inferior games compared to other AAA titles...?

I haven't played GOW3 yet, but I really enjoyed 1 and 2. The story is good, the visuals and sounds are awesome, and I liked how the game introduced the wall peek and crouch behind objects, really, the idea of needing to take cover rather than just stand there and mow everything down like some other games. I'd give the first two games an A so far.

Gears of War 2 - B-
Gears of War 3 - A+
The problem is the series has loads of 'dudebro posturing' which is exaggerated and based on GOW1. Gears of War has one of the hardest final boss battles I've ever seen and Gears of War 2 is one of the easiest (if you can call it a boss battle).Gears of War 3 is probably one of the greatest games this gen and you felt like you were watching Platoon. I would say it's a great series definitely.
