was pile the dude that worked at best buy?  the only time he and i argued was when i had best buy issues.

He was a bitter, bitter man who was almost always a douche, was obsessed with solving problems with math, had no sense of humor, and was a Mr. Know It All.

I remember Euclid posting hard ass math problems and making me feel like a dumbass  :yahoo_mini:

IIRC, didn't his name spring from him being some form of math teacher???

Pretty sure that's right.

I'm not sure, but I think he may have been a linquist too.

We had a "meaning is use" argument where Rage kept using "He's a linguist!" as proof positive that his side was correct.  I've since learned many linguists can be full of it, or disagree on the "meaning is use" line...

He lived in New York so that bitterness and attitude comes from living in there. I'm sure it's nice having everything you ever wanted within a ten minute drive, but New York has to have the highest per capita douchebags.

And he had a great sense of humour so I don't even know where that's from.

The geometry you studied in high school is what's called Euclidean geometery. There's other forms of geometry, but you won't encounter those unless you get into physics and theory.

My memory is fuzzy.  He may have had a sense of humour at one time, I don't know.  The main impression he left, tho, is that he was a super douche.

Well, he was a douche to me.

That should say it all.  Who would be a douche to Crazydan?

PILE was a pathetic man. People stopped giving a shit about him after he tried defending Best Buy in that whole argument. He was dumb.

I started probably just a few weeks after the beginning. I signed up at 1Bob right after Stan did then he told me about A1, so I purposely got banned from 1Bob for posting a thread called "What's WCW?" (yeah seriously) Viperblaze, btw.

Edge's interviews probably remain the funniest thing ever on the board, along with Fatty's version of Eminem's "Stan" and kybrd brk ax faty

A1 Road Trips! Anyone still got the pic of us all with Doink? Me, Stan, CJC, Janitor, Ref, my buddy Justin...am I missing anyone? Good times! Getting to meat a living legend in Killer Kowalski (RIP) thanks to CJC, and then hearing his Haystack Calhoun shitting himself story two years in a row at the Hall of Fame dinner.

I pinned Stan for the WCW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE at Billy Bob's Fun Zone in 2002, only to have Stan knock me out and steal the belt, good times.

Oh man the A2 debacle, what a mess. Janitor was a good dude, but he sure did get butthurt a lot.

I wish I can remember the first line of the Haku Haiku

The many douchebags in A1's history, pile, nancy, steviedogg, johnny shear, etc...

Jayel is hurt (sorry Fatty)

A1E, good times

Yahoo Pool! Holy shit, I haven't thought about that in years

Shit, I've been posting here since I was 21 years old, that shit crazy.

Did Janitor really pay for breakfast for all of you on that road trip?

I remember him saying "As usual, breakfast is on me" once.

He did the 2nd year when it was just him, Stan and myself, not sure about the first year. I do remember the first year, between him and CJC, I think I only paid for like 1 beer at the bar, and I got pretty drunk.

The really depressing thing about this is so much of this is still fresh in memory, yet it's been SEVEN YEARS

Started posting as Tony Soprano a little after the inception of a1, but I posted at 1bob as well under a different name I can't even remember. No idea what those years were.

Was it Shawn that was the big Jim Neidhart fan?

I made the jump from 1Bob to A1, pretty much a career lurker, post when I feel the need to and occasionally take a nap while recording the podcast.

dratch's short story about Dan in college

That wasn't a story.  He took a day I wrote about in my Livejournal.  :(

I didn't realize when I switched to "friends only" mode I still needed to go back to the old posts and hide them.

I remember Rage always telling us how tough he was.

Everyone knows the toughest dogs don't usually bark a lot.  ^_^

He was kind of bland, but didn't go out of his way to be annoying like some posters.  :(
