Think of it this way. One can achieve a 1.7ERA but if your team can't hit like the mariners for instance, you're not going to get wins.

It is a team stat, not a stat to determine who is the best pitcher. That being said, awards voters are still stupid and I do not expect Felix to win the Cy Young despite one of the best pitching campaigns in recent memory.
