i liked the show.

i really thought HHH was awesome.....to me he was the MVP of that match

the one glimmer of hope i saw in the DB/Sheamus match was that this definitely was not a blow off to the feud, it, it guarantee's bryan getting the belt back for a final (long) match down the line where Sheamus becomes World Champ and DB gets sent over to Raw

then we get to see him every monday

If they keep the belt on Punk after the Jericho feud, Punk vs DB would be a great feud.

HBK's reactions were damn priceless.

When HBK did his backstage interview, he walked on screen, his eyes aflutter, and I said, "Look into the camera, Shawn." You'd think that I just launch and LOL atom bomb, it got a huge pop, I was a babyface. I started to cheer for Team Johnny during their match, though, and that heeled me up. I got a lot of heat for saying I liked Vickie Gurrero.

Cena doing the roll through, pick up, Attitude Adjustment was the spot of the night, possibly the year, I'll let you know in 2014 what my spot of the year for 2012 was.

Between this and the Reks/Masters line, your subtle trolling has been on point today.

I liked Jericho tussling Punk's hair after the match, but again, if you want to be Mega Smart, jump on Jericho's business exposing ass for destroying the whole match with that bullshit (but I still liked it, and thought it was kind of touching, "Here ya go, kid, you did it.".

I dislike HHH as much as the next guy, and I figured deep down that 'Taker was winning. But I still bought into it a couple times that H might win.

I almost bought into it too.

He's close enough to retirement where you can believe a loss is possible..  And especially so when HHH and Shawn are involved.

And who knows, maybe UT wants to end his career with the big loss everyone talks about forever, instead of riding off into the sunset undefeated?

It's a prelude to the master plan of becoming Punk's best friend and then boning his sister.

I bought into the superkick followed by Pedigree as it seemed like a sudden screwjob and beatdown, but alas he kicked out.

Taker's quite different to other legends.  He's given back so much throughout his whole career, laying down for guys like Hogan, Shawn, Bret, Trips, Austin, Angle, Lesnar etc.  He hasn't really ever been "the guy" and got over on the strength of his own gimmick, despite some horrendous storylines.  I think he deserves to remain unbeaten and supersede the "guy on the way out should job" rule.

"Derp derp the bad guy winning up until the end and then the good guy coming back to win is awful and should never be done derka derka!! I want OLD SCHOOL RASSLE!!"

Dude, I'm probably at big an UT fan as you are.  Maybe even bigger..  After Hogan, he was my childhood wrestling hero, basically..

I don't have any problems with garbage wrestling either.  I'm a died in the wool casual fan, and proud of it..

But even ECW knew major PPV's meant it was time for your A game.  A million chairshots and New Jack tossing junk in the ring and hitting people with it was TV and house show stuff.

Saying that has nothing to do with snobbery..  It has everything to do with plunking down hard earned money for a good show.

And chairshots are fine..  But UT and HHH went waaaay overboard with it..  Which is just lazy.  They could have put in more of a match with less garbage and still gotten the reaction they were aiming for.  That's basically a match you'll eat up the first time through, than never want to watch again, unlike Undertaker and Edge's match, or UT and Shawn.

These guys are cripples who wrestle once a year.  I think it's done out of necessity.

Another point should be taken about Wrestlemania though.  Look at the interest and hype they have gotten from a slow build to a PPV.  Rock vs Cena, Jericho vs Punk and Trips vs Taker all had months of purposeful build and it had everyone talking.

Would it kill them to go back to four PPVs a year and make each of the big four massively important?

My 9 year old wrote a letter to WWE headquarters to get Mark Henry banned because he was too dangerous and then wrote another letter supporting HHH losing the Raw GM position because he refused to fire Mark Henry.

She understands this is serious business.

Awesome  :laugh_mini:

Just a weird thought, but does anyone think Rock won because he pulled a powerplay and refused to lose on his home turf? The WWE changes their mind every 3 seconds, so I am not inclined to think this will lead to anything major for Cena, just as the whole Kane storyline didn't.

I agree with the thoughts that this is now the middle of a story, not the end. There will be a rematch.

I seriously doubt it.  I mean I never really thought that Cena would win in Miami to begin with or in the Rock's big return.  I am kind of surprised how many people seem to think that Cena was or should have won last night.

Cena should've won because he is the company's biggest star and he was facing a guy who doesn't wrestle anymore and will continue to not wrestle, sans an appearance at WM 29.

Of course, maybe Rocky does have 10 matches this year and I am wrong, but it is unlikely.

"Hey guys, pay money to watch the returning hero you've been clamoring for lose!"--WWE

That makes more sense?  It's not like Cena isn't still going to sell a ton of merch and be their top guy.  Losing to the Rock isn't the end of it all.

Cena is the biggest star, but for once he has some back up, so they can take the risk.  I honestly had no idea which way the match would go, but I knew in the end they HAD to make sure Rock made the fans happy in his home town at the end of Mania, whether by losing or doing something to please the fans after he loses.

Plus the rematch is a natural story, should WWE decide to go that route.

Cena got cocky, and took that extra few seconds to mock The Rock by trying to beat him with his own move. Had he not taken the eye off the ball and gone for the kill instead of worrying about rubbing it in, he could have won.

Funniest part is that Cena finally looks even a little vulnerable and people are still not happy.
