Less and less games are using this, in favor of Live co-op.
Anyone else think this should be a standard feature in third person/first person shooters, instead of just assuming no one plays locally? I was pretty annoyed when I found out War for Cybertron doesn't have local co-op options, and had to sit and watch so friends could enjoy taking on Omega Supreme instead of being able to play with them.
I just can't think of any reason NOT to put in such an option, since most gamers do have real life friends, and not just online friends.. And even if their RL friends have a Live enabled system, it's crazy that you'd be prevented from gaming with them if you're in one room together and only have one console/tv setup... (Or god forbid, no internet service.. Such people do still exist.)
